Hey, I just got a second mail delivery today...that rarely happens...and one more game came...
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy
As with the ones I mentioned above, it's a GameCube game. So just 5 more to come...
Recent finds of mine this month.....
-Double Dribble cart for NES: $0.99 in a second hand shop
-Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past cart for Super NES: $0.99 in a second hand shop
-Super Castlevania IV cart for Super NES: $1.05 in Salvation Army
I have tried to cut back on buying games, as a New Year's Resolution, otherwise the list would have been a little longer since I passed up a few other things I'd have bought in past years.
a couple of recent pick-ups:
sega nomad (just the unit, no accessories)-$10 at the swap meet
cd-i link: the faces of evil-$2.50 at goodwill
playstation interactive CD sampler #7 (still sealed)-$1.50 at goodwill
I picked up new copies of Mazes of Fate and Back to Stone for GBA at Burlington Coat Factory for $7.99 each.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
Couple nice things today.
First stop I picked up a Castlevania SOTN GH for 2.80 and a Virtual Boy (no eyeshield or stand ) with with Tennis in it for 10 (works better than my current one!). Those were prices before 25% off Tuesday.
The SA had an NES w/ hookups, 2 cont. and 'with two games!!!' (SMB/DH and SMB ) for $8, but had a bonus SMB3 inside it. Then at the back of the store I was checking the CDs. I pull out the blank spined ones usually to have a look, but do it pretty fast, so as I was sliding one back in I realized I'd just looked at Valkryie Profile!!!. The single CD jewel case was stuck shut from some sticky substance, but got it open and was happy to see a second disc until it turned out to be Tony Hawk. No sign of the real case or Disc 2 (and believe me I looked), but still not bad for 1.95.
Here's my finds.
From Saturday:
Snake's Revenge, Bomberman II, Ninja Gaiden II and Mega Man VI were $3 each, the Starcraft CDs were $1.
From Monday:
FF7 PC, Wing Commander IV and Interstate 76 were $2 each! The other games were $1.
From today (mostly)
Defender of the Crown w/box and manual $1 (from yesterday)
Bones Season 1 $2
Crystalis CIB! $2
Final Fantasy $2
Gamestop crap:
The discs could be better, but I got Fight Club.
Oh yeah, I'm probably going to trademark The Sniper Luck.
Why?
Why the hell do I keep FINDING THESE THINGS?!

Just got one thing this afternoon:
NES:
8 Eyes (cart only) - $3.50
One of my stops was a thrift that usually charges $1-3 for NES games. I see a couple games with their cart sleeves in the glass case, and both were marked with $10 price tags. Bummer. Fortunately, they were games that I wouldn't have been interested in anyways (Skate or Die and Tecmo World Wrestling).
EDIT: I just realized that 8 Eyes is the eighth game I've acquired this year. Heh.
EDIT #2: I wound up going to another thrift with a friend tonight and got a loose first-party N64 rumble pak for a buck.

So. About that Sniper luck I mentioned in my earlier post? I'm convinced it exists.
I went to the flea market and found a good medical dictionary for translation purposes (hey, it was three bucks!) On the way out I figured I'd check some of the other booths and stumbled upon what I thought was a mini PC of sorts. I flipped it over and it had a ton of ports.
Then I looked at the bottom and my jaw hit the floor...
Something tells me I'm way overdue for something bad to happen...
Edit:
Holy crap, according to this page, I have a prototype Pippin system AND Floppy Disk expansion!

In Japan? Yes. In the US it was too but only a few thousand units were made.
Not to mention that I seem to have a proto / demo unit. o_o
Alright, I got my first deal of 2008. I think the price is more than a deal. StarCraft 64 including good condition box, original inserts/etc, manual, cart, and an additional memory card all for $14. I've been looking for StarCraft 64 for going on 2 years and I was ready to pay $26 for a complete copy, but surprise surprise when I won it for $14. I guess it was a lucky day for me.

So says the guy who found SOTN for two bucks. XP
Thanks. By the way, I'm trying to get another Genesis 1 system - the guy who won my debug set didn't want any cables, just the system itself. So your A/V cable is still here.
By the way, have you received my half of the trade yet? I sent it last week.
Picked up a small lot of Genesis sports games today. Nothing much, but it did include Madden Football Championship edition CIB. I have a question though. The cart is labeled as 'Rental Store Exclusive' but the manual is not. The only picture of a manual that I have seen has a little sticker in the bottom left corner saying that it is an exclusive. My manual has a little sticker there, but it is the standard, EA Sports logo sticker. Any ideas? Also, if anyone is interested, it is available for sale, trade, etc.

Okay, as I've been waiting for them all to arrive post Xmas, here is some Vectrex stuff. Well you know me and my fixation for the big box of white line joy. Not your run-of-the-mill items I might add, these is some seriously rare and unique bits.
One of the prototype (pre-production) Vectorcade arcade style controllers. These things really are the nuts and I'm really glad I managed to finally secure one.
A bunch of preproduction and/or internal sample cartridges. Two copies of Berzerk II (probably the bug fixed version), two early versions of Animation, Star Trek II (not sure, bug fix?), Scramble, Polar Rescue (bug fixed) and Melody Master.
Some multicarts, but ones you may not have seen. Sean Kelly v1.2 (with the dip switches), Sean Kelly v1999 (with label), Richard Hutchinson's cart (with the red button) and The Final Cartridge (no idea who did this one).
Prototype lightpen controller. The released version was just a pen and you still used the four buttons on the normal controller to select options. This early internal version (perhaps the only one still surviving?) attempted to combine both into one unit (note the little white buttons on the side). And amazingly enough the thing still works today!
Dark Tower ROM. Possibly a real internal prototype, or a very clever homebrew in the early days of Vectrex fandom.
This one is the coup de gras. Anyone remember the 1982 film Android with Klaus Kinski? In the film there are a few computer screens showing ship radar and telemetry, together with some shots of scanning one of the ships. All that was performed by the Vectrex. This is quite likely the actual cartridge used during filming, it certainly contains all the computer generated imagery shown. Now I just need to find someone to help me dump it to preserve.
Noticing a lot of Megaman 6s on this thread lately...
Not much for me so far... got a Gamecube Demo #30 from a DP member.
