UFO Super Drive
I'm likely going to sell this, but would like to have a ballpark value for it. Also, does anyone know why power supply requirements it has? I'd like to test it, but there is no indication on the unit, it just has a power jack like an NES (SNES is too big). I just don't want to fry it using the wrong adapter.
You're looking for something in this range according to what I found on a forum post: 9V DC @ 900mA, center negative. It may even work without a power supply. I'd say the value is anywhere from $35-80 depending on what kind of buyer you can find and how much ram is inside.

Just a quick update in case anyone cares. I fired it up with a SMS power supply (9V DC 1A center neg). Power isn't necessary unless you need the floppy drive to work, so basically if you aren't using the UFO's functions. Although there does appear to be some sort of special mode to play game carts in, maybe to allow cheats? I've really no idea.
Also found that it works great, and was able to load multiple games off floppies that I got along with it, as well as format discs and backup games. I got a couple of write errors (3rd try was the charm), but I think that was a combination of old media, and the system being pretty sensitive to any movement.
I pulled a bozo move with it, and first was messing with backing up my copy of Secret of Mana, which happened to be the game I was playing recently and in the system already. Well, I don't know if it was because of the write error, or what, but I lost my save (pretty far into the game, grrr)!!!
Finally, I opened it up to snap a couple pics in case a buyer wanted to see them. What I presume to be the memory board has 4 chips mounted on one side, and 2 on the other. Does this indicate to all you experts how much memory it has?

This might be dumb, but what is it? What does it do?

It plugs into an SNES and lets you make a (backup) copy of a game onto a floppy. This one also has a serial port so it can dump straight to computer. I think it might also allow some 'cheat' functions, but I don't really know.Originally Posted by coreys429
