I just got a personal grail ... while NOT exceptionally valuable, it WILL be extremely functional in my collection.
A brand new, still boxed and in shrink-wrap a Famicom Clone that has the look and (90% of the) original Famicom hardware cloned to the letter, AND it has built in AV ports on the back. Sadly, it doesn't have the controller microphones, but, that's a decent trade-off for AV.
Sweet.
I tested it on all my Fami software and the FC Disk System - and everything worked better than any other FC Clone that I have in my collection, and it even has the "expansion" port in the front so now I can play my 3D Hot Rally in 3D ... if I ever find a set of the glasses at a decent price.
I assume this was one of the HK FC Clones that were made DURING the Fami's lifespan, using more of Nintendo's authentic coding. I'm no expert, but I've got a ton of clones and that's the impression that the functionality of this one gives me.
The seller also included, brand-new, both a 72 to 60 pin FC to NES adapter and a brand new 60 to 72 pin NES to FC adapter and 5 RANDOM HK Famicom pirate games ... which happen to randomly include the Japanese Transformers Headmasters game, which I've never played.
Christ it's a hard game. HARD.
Total price shipped = $50.
In celebration of this momentus occasion I'll be liberating one of my many AV Famiclones at the next NAVA at a totally reasonable price.
Here are some pictures of the haul.

I just got back from Japan tonight, and I brought some stuff back.
AV Family Computer
Famicom Disk System
CIB Super Mario RPG
CIB Mother
Super Mario Bros 2 (FDS)
Out of curiosity, can I use a US NES AC adapter with the AV? I got an AC adaptor for the Disk System, but not the AV. If the US adapter won't work, can I use the FDS adapter (C batteries FTW) with it?

From everything I've seen/read you should NOT attempt to use a US NES AC with a Japanese Famicom AV system.
A standard Famicom AC is not the same as the US NES or NES 2 AC adapter and it's reported that using a US AC on either Famicom can potentially damage the hardware.
The SPECIFIC type of AC you're looking for for your AV Famicom is this:
Nintendo AC adapter Model HVC-002.
It works with :
Family Computer/Famicom model HVC-001
AV Famicom model HVC-101/HVC-NFF
Super Famicom model SHVC-001
Super Famicom Jr. model SHVC-101
The Famicom Disk System AC is ALSO different:
MODEL HVC-025
I wouldn't try that in the AV Fami either.
Interestingly enough, the AV Famicoms didn't come with AC adapters or AV cables! Talk about skimping on console accessories!

Don't think I posted these before.
These were the last set of Saturn titles I picked up before took bit of break from console~
And better close up pictures of factory sealed Cleopatra Fortune set. ^ ^
The rest can be found here.
Thanks. However, I was actually wondering if the power output was the same. The required voltage and current are not written on the AV, but I know what the AC adapters output. The HVC-25 I have is 9V DC at (my memory may be a bit off) 400mA.
But, I guess I will have to get another adapter then.

I just got two One Station multicarts, one 8 Bit and one 16 Bit (and a bunch of other random inexpensive accessories) in the mail from www.superufo.com today (AWESOME fast shipping with FedEx only 2 days from Japan!)
One of the carts 35-IN-1 (C) had a nice, and rather unique selection of NES & Famicom games on it including but not limited to:
Adventure Island 3 (JAP)
Batman (US)
TMNT II Arcade (US)
The Punisher (US)
River City Ransom AKA Nekketsu Monogatari (JAP)
Nintendo World Cup AKA Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen (JAP)
... I had NO idea that River City Ransom (Nekketsu Monogatari) was on there when I bought it! That's probably my favorite NES game ever ... if only it wasn't the Japanese version ... I'll never be able to figure out which books or food to buy in the shops or record/enter the passwords correctly.
Oh well, still fun to play!
The other cart 20-IN-1 (Smax-1) was a bunch of 16 bit modern puzzle game clones similar to Bejeweled, not too bad ... though it was a substitution that I had to make when they were out of stock on the other 8-Bit cart I wanted.

Thank you, smork. Unfortunately, I didn't even get this through someone I had keep an eye out for it, like yourself, but I got an offer I couldn't refuse. I figure if I see the price drop even further and I end up enjoying it, I'll part, wait for the 360 game to shore-up, then pick-up the pcb again at the bottoming out.
In the process of getting Penguin-kun Wars for the Famicom. It's pretty fun but hard. I mainly just got it so that I had another good 2-player game for my Fami.

Last week I got my Japan Xbox 360 and Raiden Fighter Aces.
I have been playing this collection all week.
Finally got a new import on the way!
