GAAAAAAAAAHHH~~
I'm not dead! Busy, busy, busy with other things...
I'm still working on this, yes. Put in some time on it tonight...so...update here:

I should have some time to work on this over the next few weeks -- I'm sorta-kinda closing in on completing the prefix that covers the vast majority of third-party games, so that's a plus.
great news and thanks for the new update

Another couple days, another update...
...almost to 2000 entries...
Looking good man. JP got quite a few PS games, huh? And we thought the US and EU had a massive library!

I own Notam of Wind, the ArtDink ballooning game. The other ones are "The Conveni" [convenience store] and "Pig Game."Originally Posted by AtariBuff

Is anyone still working on this? I could contribute game/rarity/price/ info if needed. There aren't many Japanese PS games in the guide right now, and I'm sure there are lots of other collectors who could use at least rarity and price info.
I'd be interested, as well. I've picked up a few fighting games because I was interested and they were available; one was only released in JP version. I'm also curious by nature = )
I've found a new resource that could prove useful in determining the rarity of PS games. There are some games that are not listed there, but there are a lot of (fairly accurate) prices for used and sealed games in this database.

Can anyone tell me what does SCPS mean? It's so confusing with all those different PS1 codes... would be nice if someone had a list of them with their meaning.
Thanks
SCPS is just one of Sony's Catalog codes for the games, like SLUS and SCUS here in America (SLUS is 3rd Party releases, SCUS is a Sony party release).
I don't have my scant few Japanese PS games available for access at the moment so I can't say off the top of my head what that designation is, but in Japan they split it off WAY more than they did American releases. PS Books got their own call-sign, as did 1st and 3rd party releases. I'm pretty sure that some of the 3rd party GH releases like Konami's The Best Series, also had their own call-sign.

Thank you for replying. If you ever find what SCPS was for, please drop me a MP, I'd really like to know!
:-)
Hi all,
I found this list on a Chinese forum, where the member "nofight" listed the most complete list of all Japanese PSX games and their corresponding Catalog Code Numbers. He also included USA and European games as well. (BTW, I noticed the translated page's list is complete, whilst the original page's list is cut off for some reason. So take your choice of which to view.)

I hope this helps and it might go towards someone compiling an even more complete list.

That forum post appears to be a copy-and-paste job from the Sony Index website.
Since the forum thread was posted in 2005, the Sony Index list is obviously more complete.
Also, this book might be useful:
I have this book but I am unsure how complete it is. There should also be new editions of this book (the one shown above is the 2004 version).

I'd love to get me one of those books.
