Default Warcraft 3 wav files ripping

I need a couple of the warcraft 3 .wav files, any idea on where or how I can get them? (I have the game CD and installed, but can't find the damn things)

    Default Use War3edit

They do not install the .wav files in separate files...in fact no game has done this since the early 90s I think. Most games take all of the music, sounds, text, graphics, etc. and stick them into a few different (or perhaps one large) data library where it can be accessed by the main program.

You need to use the War3edit program (Warcraft 3 editor) and I believe you can use it to find and play particular unit sounds (I'm assuming that those are the files you want to use). I'm not sure if they let you export them but you can at least play the sounds without the music or other sounds getting in the way. Then you can use a program like Creative WaveStudio or something else to record it while you play the sound. That's the easiest way to do it.

I believe that there are probably also ripper programs out there that can unpack the sounds and graphics from the game files but I haven't ever used them as I've only played around with WC3 level-editing, not modding.

I know that there are rippers out there for most other popular games like Westwood's data files (command & conquer) or even the ill-fated Ultima IX. You shouldn't have any problem finding a program for WC3 if you do a google search for it...but the wave files won't be just sitting in some directory waiting for you to copy them
You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?

    Um, on another note:

I think we might still have a free WC3 soundtrack at work (not sure if it's 3 or the Frozen Throne exp. one) If you want it, I can mail it over for the cost of shipping. PM me if you do.
