Battlefield: Bad Company just came out for the PS3 and Xbox 360. That's about all I can think of.
I believe that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is being developed by Free Radical (Timesplitters) for Lucasarts.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
I saw that there was one coming out with the Lord of the Rings theme. I think it is called Conquest. looks amazing!
Frontlines: Fuel of War is the closest thing out now. Classes of different soldiers with specific weapons and gadgets taking control of command points on huge maps with tons of vehicles. It's pretty deep and supports 50 players per map. It has a good feel, looks nice and has a decent (but short) campaign.
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is similar and cheaper, but was just a prettied up version of the original Xbox game. Frontlines is much better.
Bad Company doesn't have a gametype like Battlefront, there is only a Goldrush mode when teams play offense/defense going after crates of gold. A conquest mode is supposed to be coming in a future update. It is pretty good, and the destructible environments are great.

There's also domination mode inside Call of Duty 4 that has a somewhat similar playstyle.
Earth Defense Force 2017 seems close enough. 3rd person shooting, action-packed, fighting against hundreds or thousands per level, 170+ weapons...
