Arasoi started and ended the first one.
But here, we talk about all things Castlevania, from old to new.
Arasoi the Castlevania master has been MIA, so we'll all have to pitch in our knowledge for each other.

Mmmm well I'll kick it off with questions then, since my knowledge is limited to the usual sources
Has anyone played the arcade game? How is it?
Does anyone claim to have a full collection? It's a big series but not as big as Megaman and others.
Finally, Castlevania Adventure II - do you like it Eastern or Western style? (Cross Boomerang (also in the GBC remake) vs. Holy Water)
NES, SFC, SNES, NDS, PS2, GCN, PC, PS2
and hopefully more acronyms to come
I can answer your Q about a full collection. I beleive Arasoi (as mentioned above) has a full one if not, it is damn extensive as seen here http://www.vgmuseum.com/mrp/multi/co...r-protogem.htm

Does anyone know Mr P, who runs the CV Realm over at VGMuseum, personally? Great site.

So I'm missing a bunch of stuff still. before I started collecing I had SOTN for the PS1 as well as Aria of Sorrow for the GBA so I need to re-aquire those as well as others I'm missing.
Are the 3d ones on the PS2/xbox etc. any good? I have not played any of them yet. I've only played the classic 2d style.
Also, I am seriously trying to find a set of the new Castlevania figures. I never ran across them around here. So if anyone of you have seen them or can get them in your neck of the woods LMK.

Im still around =)
Sold off most of the collection, didnt make sense to be collecting anything that avidly anymore. I still like the series, though I have mixed feelings about it's direction.
This new fighting game for the Wii is a perfect example of whats, well.. going wrong with the art direction. All of the characters look like they work in a brothel of some kind. Poor Simon Belmont, seriously.
Order of Ecclesia(SP?) looks interesting and I look forward to it. I still think Portrait of Ruin was a nice game despite people bashing it a lot recently. I hope for a change of pace from the typical archetypes of the series in the same way with Ecclesia.
Hey hey! There he is! Did you ever sell that Castlevania Vinyl record?
Man, I heard about the fighting game, but I haven't seen anything about it yet.

Heh I have a few of his Castlevania related items now in my collection (mainly 2 games), Arasoi really had quite an impressive collection. If I wouldn't be so darned cash strapped most of them time I would've snagged more.
The concept art has wayyy too effeminate since SotN I think, but then as games got better graphics to work with, the femininity shone through. I think the handhelds (gba & ds) are great, although they're just reworkings of the same game - but when has that made a gamer complain?
People bash on the 3D ones a lot, but personally, I loved Curse of Darkness. I thought the ID system was really interesting, and you could do a lot with it, plus forging weapons was great, more intuitive than in Aria of Sorrow. I filled out the bestiary even , so you can tell I didn't mind grinding a whole lot in that game.
I still haven't heard anything about this fighter, I'll have to go find some stuff.
