I think it was E rated because Nintendo force JV games to take the beer content of the game.
This game had problems with its rating from the get go. Pong Toss "Frat Party Games" was previously known as Beer Pong. Beer Pong got a "T" rating.
There was complain about about the game and the rating last month. It can be read on http://www.wiiware-world.com/news/20...evil_and_wrong . Nintendo forced the publisher to change the name and to take out the alcohol content as a result.
The bigger question is how did Nintendo allowed JV games to publish and develop this game a first place.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
Well, I mentioned the PS2 d-pad specifically. I don't have a stick for the PS2 :b
At least to me. It might be my particular setup, but the Neo Geo games on the VC do look sharper and the colors are brighter. I'm using component cables for both systems.Emulation: They really look and control better on the VC? Interesting.
Some of the games on the PS2 suffer from outright slowdown (Shock Troopers in particular) and the control on some of the fighting games like Samurai Shodown seem off to me.
I'm assuming both of these issues will be fixed with the Wii version of SNK Classics, which makes the VC versions of the games kind of moot, given their high price and big file size.
Yeah, it's pretty odd that Chase HQ got a E10 for a "drug reference". I'm assuming it's because some of the billboards alongside the road are for cigarettes, but you can barely see them anyway.
Maybe this beer pong game is Nintendo trying to be "edgy" :b The 8 bucks would be better spent on a 12-pack of cheap beer and playing the game for real.
Snk Playmore confirmed Samurai Shodown II will be coming to the North American Virtual Console on August - the 4th.

Hudson claims Y's Book 1 & 2 will be coming this Monday. The source is http://vc-pce.com/usa/e/index.html .
I will confirm the games on Monday. I am not sure if Samurai Shodown II and Y's book 1& 2 are the true releases for Monday. Nintendo has a history of changing announced vc game releases. Last Month is an example of that.
Last Month, Hudson claimed Break In and Star Parodier are going to be released on July 21st. North American Gamers got Gley Lancer and Super Fantasy Zone instead on July 21st.
I hope Y's Book 1 & 2 announcement is true.
Ys Book I & II and Samurai Shodown II both coming this coming Monday August 4th: http://www.vc-reviews.com/news/2008/...n_us_next_week

Today's virtual game console games are the following:
Sonic the Hedgehog -Sega Master System 500 Wii points
Splatterhouse 2- Genesis 800 Wii points
The source is http://press.nintendo.com/articles.jsp?id=15954 .
Sonic the Hedgehog is one of my favorite Sms games.
I had my doubts about the vc announcements from Hudson, SNK Playmore, and Capcom for a reason.
Publishers have no say over when their games are released. Nintendo is suppose to let other 3rd party publishers know a couple days in advance. It appears like Nintendo is not letting 3rd party publishers know.
This weeks shows more evidence of that.

Today's wiiware game is the following:
Wild West Guns - 1000 Wii points

Info on the game can be found at http://www.wiiware-world.com/games/w...wild_west_guns.
Splatterhouse 2 is great. But why in the hell would they release an inferior version of a game they've already released? I'm operating under the assumption that the SMS version is just the Game Gear version (since that's the version I've played), and it's pretty bad. Just don't tell me that next they'll release SMS Strider in lieu of the Genesis version.
I like the first Sonic for the SMS/GG. It just loosely follows the 16 bit game, having lots of new and different things compared to the Genesis game. Hardly a inferior port since its basically a completely different game in the Sonic series.
I'd be curious though if its the SMS version (Which its labeled as), or actually the Game Gear version.
