DUDE, that is unequivocally fucking AWESOME!!
Congrats on an awesome segment!
It's always nice to see collectors featured in a positive light, and Joe, you sir are a wonderful ambassador!
And, I must ask ... is that "Seaman promo can" that appears at your home base the one that I traded to the store in my personally historic first DP store trade-in, or did you have one of your own prior to that?
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
Good video, Joe. Thanks for posting the link!
It's funny...right after you explained that there are only two Save the Whales prototypes in existence, they stamped it with a big, red "COLLECT THIS."
As a long time fan of Antiques Roadshow, my first thought was "hey, it's the Keno brothers" then Joe pops on screen and it's "Holy shit! It's Joe and the Keno Brothers!"
Very VERY awesome.

That's really fantastic. 5 minutes of fame might sound small but even Walt Disney had a first 5 minutes of fame before the rest took off.
That was YOURS before it was mine. Just happens to be one of those things that looks cool in front of other things. Thanks!
Yeah... it was a long, long day and hopefully I'll get around to documenting it. Let me just say that there are a lot of takes and things seem to get re-arranged. I'm not totally thrilled with the final product but it's a good job overall.
Joe, I just meant that how are newcomers supposed to "COLLECT" something when you own one of only two copies in existence? Yeah, good luck collecting that, rookie.
It wasn't your fault. The illogical "COLLECT THIS" stamp was added in post-production.
The video was great overall, though. You came off as being well-spoken, comfortable, and natural. Thanks again for sharing.

I know exactly what you mean - when it was originally taped, the point was kinda to look out for games like "Save The Whales", with weird typewritten/unprofessional labels, as these are sometimes worth more than the rarest of rare retail games. But that was a lot of material and that whole conversation got cut out. Except for the part where "Save The Whales" is a top collectible. Oh well!
Joe, this is awesome.
But am I the only one that wanted to slug those two guys when they started handling your stuff badly? Or when they were "playing"? They reminded me of that GamePro TV show, and that is NEVER A GOOD THING.
Oh? I should look over that again. I kinda glazed over the parts where Joe was not talking.
Joe,
I just gotta ask:
Was that the Wizard of Wor Board game I traded you at the bottom of the stack? You're still getting more use out of it than I did!
Lick me! LICK ME!!

That was an interesting piece, Joe!
I know what you mean about the process. I have been quoted in newspapers and such before and even though it was what I said; it wasn't what I said, by the way they positioned it.
Anyway, it was cool to see the store and it makes me want to come even more, if I am ever on that side of the country.
Very cool dig, Joe. Congrats. And yeah, I'm not surprised you did a lot of takes, but only certain parts made the cut. It usually works like that. But from what I saw, I thought it was a great little piece and I agree with the poster that said you came off poised, well-spoken and relaxed. This is not only a good day for you and your store (as well as this site) but for video gamers out there. Nice for a change to see something like this instead of the typical "gamers are secluded losers" mainstream tidbits. Refreshing
That was really awesome.
Good stuff.

Alrighty then, way to go!
