Ah you see, this is the thread that made me discover and join DP. This truly is a piece of internet history and was worth the time it took to read.
It's the greatest thread on the internet, period.
It was a good hoax, I don't think it was taken too far. It was more like an April Fools kind of joke, and instead of disappearing and letting people wonder if the cart was real or not, he posted pics of it destroyed and kind of joked about it later on. Other people derailed the thread into debates about dumping games and releasing them to the public.
In history there were far more elaborate hoaxes which were more expensive to pull off, and would take far more effort. All that was used was a plain NES cart with a generic printed label, and screenshots of a self programed game(most likely run on a flash cart on an actual NES and TV). All he did was post pics of the cart with screenshots, and gave fake descriptions of gameplay. I just lurked back then but I remember reading through it, pretty funny stuff once the "Eat Communism" pics were posted.
Was that Nintendo Power article even real?
Oh, and what was the cart used for the hoax? SMB/DH?
Oh, there was a Nintendo Power preview of the game, in issue 29, I believe (I shall check later). Still, there is little hope a real prototype will ever come out, just like any unreleased game.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
I am starting to think this is fake.

We should pool our money to buy the proto then have it dumped and released on carts for everyone who paid monies.
Still Around...Still Gamin'...
Maaaaybe. I myself would pay 2K monies to see a Physic altering fart of doom.
@ DukeLionDurst-Obviously someone cut his balls off. Check the pic. That or all the juice took it's toll on his Mr. Gibbons.
Also, I've heard rumblings of a Bio Force Ape 0.5 prototype with totally different music, backgrounds and story.
Hopefully someone will release the rom or at least a short video of game footage.

If you're trying to pull what He did by "rumblings" don't. some of us here are emotionally scarred from that... *looks at those people*
