I loved Shadowgate and Deja Vu (the former I played on NES, the latter on Mac), and was wondering if you kind folks would recommend me some similar titles. Preferrably on console systems, but I'd also pick up some PC ones. Thanks!

Shadowgate had a sequel released for the N64, if I recall correctly.
Uninvited is the most like those two. Definitely get that one. Also, Nightshade is similar in that there's lots of puzzles to solve. It's in third person perspective and not first tho. It's also pretty humorous. Same goes for Maniac Mansion. Finally, if you don't mind a light-hearted romp, check out Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. Same first person perspective, puzzle solving adventure, just decidedly cuter.
If you haven't already, I'd say check out any/all of the LucasArts point & click games... like Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, the Monkey Island series, Sam & Max, Full Throttle, etc. They're not exactly like Shadowgate, but the exploration and puzzle solving are there.
And, of course, there's Myst and it's sequels.

Deja Vu had a sequel, Deja Vu II: Lost in Las Vegas.
I really like adventure games. I can't really think of any other first-person adventure games that haven't already been mentioned(I haven't really played many first-person games). I'll just provide several lists, maybe they'll be helpful. I mostly played the classic LucasArts games, I still have a bunch of others that I haven't played through yet.

Thank you to everyone who has responded so far. It really is appreciated. Now I have some new games to hunt down and actually play.
The Scooby-Doo game for Genesis is Point-n-Click. I'm tryna find that one which is supposed to be pretty fun. BTW, the SNES version is completely different.

For something a little newer try the Echo Night games for the PSX and PS2. These kind of have spooky themes.
There's also a very weird horror-themed first-person adventure game for the PSX called Juggernaut. It's pretty to look at but I thought the puzzles had some obscure, not super-logical solutions which made it kind of hard.
Also, you may want to check out the original D for Saturn, 3DO, PC or Playstation. That's a very interesting first-person FMV adventure game with a horror theme. There's a sequel, Enemy Zero, that's a lot more frustrating because it adds quirky shooter and maze mechanics.
If you haven't tried the Sword of Hope games, I highly recommend giving them a go.
Essentially it's Shadowgate RPG. It has the same interface and look of all the ICOM classics (Shadowgate, Dejavu and Uninvited) and contains all the elements of puzzle solving, haunting music, and well written dialog. Throw in random battles, HP and MP, purchasing equipment, and you have a very unique game.
It's the perfect fusion of ICOM's adventure game engine and RPG elements. It's sad that there were VERY few games made like this. I LOVE em'!!!
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?
Don't you just hate it when someone beats you to your suggestion? I highly recomend Juggernaut. 3 disk set. I had made it all the way through the first disk and on to the second disk, then it kicks you back to the first disk.
The second game I was going to suggest is Syberia for xbox and I think ps2. It's also got a sequel. Point and click, lot's of puzzles. Don't know much about it after that.
You are correct Sir.
I've got a copy, but have never played it. I just checked and IGN gave it a 6.2/10. Flyingomelette gave it a 2.5/5, but while I read the review I remembered that I did play it for an afternoon. It was boring and the graphics were terrible. Get Beyond Shadowgate instead.
Tombs and Treasure on NES
Deja Vu, indeed.

Snatcher.
Mission Critical for PC. A little known forgotten gem. Starts out with pretty standard adventure fair (picking up and examining objects and solving puzzles), but develops into a great sci fi yarn. Stars Michael Dorn.
Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Here's a bunch of freeware adventure games, a perfect way to spend some time. These are freeware, not abandonware.

Surprisingly, nobody has mentioned Sword of Hope in either thread. I can't comment on it's quality, as I only played it for a brief moment after purchasing it with several other GB games, but it's in the same vein as Shadowgate.
Alright, just popped Sword of Hope into my SP. The game has RPG elements, ala a battle system, equipment, gold and exp, etc. So it's like Shadowgate mixed with Dragon Warrior (the battle system is very primitive). Excellent music, though!
So I've gone far enough to find one of the three magicians, and it's like the game is trying very hard to exciting. The music is the only thing keeping me in this. Do not play this game, says I. The combat is amazingly boring.
