Default broken nes a/d power adaptor

    I have 2 non-working NES a/c adapters

Is there anyway to repair these?

IMHO, it would cost more to repair them than to replace. It's best just to send them to your local recycling center and find another one to buy.

ok, thanks, thought it might have just been a fuse replacment or something.

They are a pain to open, and it's just a stepdown transformer, nothing else inside. Just go an find any 9V >850mA power supply. The polarity doesn't matter, the NES will work fine with positive or negative center.

Yes thet are a pain to open..

I bought a bit set to open them but even with that it's hard.I;ve found a very thin ened pair of needle nose plyers that does the trick..
I've found that many times it's the wire itself that's bad..broken at the input end under the bendable plastc..or at the end that goes into the transformer itself.

I can't even get them open. It's actually an SNES one that's the problem for me, it doesn't power on unless it hasn't been used in a long time(it powers on once, then if turned off it won't go on again for a long time).

I gave up and got a replacement, but I still have the old one in case I could fix it. I seriously don't know how to open it.

Edit: I'm refering to the SNES adapter, not the system itself.
