The flea was littered with games today. So I had to go pick out all of the goodies...

Came across an older guy selling boxed genesis games. Nice and complete too! They ranged from common to not-so-common titles. I asked how much for each. He said you want them all? I'll give you a deal. So he went to count them out. 14 in all. He said a guy told him they were worth 5 buck a piece. I'm like, damn that guy...

So he thought for a minute and said, "I'll let you have them for $100." ...wait...14 x 5..... that's.... wait, huh? That's not 100! So I smiled and said, "No thanks." He really wanted to rid himself of these and told me he would go down to 50. Which was a lot better, but still a bit pricey for my taste, since I like 'em cheap! So I said I would pass and started to walk on. Before I left I saw an atari. I couldn't resist, but I should have known better. "How much for the atari?" "$100"

So anyway, had a good day...

Got an atari for less than $100

    Atari 2600 - Vader. $10

    F-Zero 64 - Been looking for this for a while - $5

    Starcraft 64 - For UNDER $25.00

Tuesday's With Morrie. Read it in sociology class and loved it. Had a couple of older ladies looking for it for me for several months.

Hastings. They run $2.50/ea there (so, the same) and there are Pac-Man, Mario Bros, and Donkey Kong. Haven't seen any other varieties and am hesitant to try them as I'm sure they taste like liquid death.

I've seen another bunch of these as well (I think they are all made by the same company). I've seen the Duff Beer version, Flaming Moes, Slurm, Family Guy, Domokun (o_O), that boys are stupid bunny and a hand full of other ones. I might be able to get them at 2.25 a pop, but the change isn't worth the savings to factor in shipping and all. Just liquid death.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Couple small finds today, but I'm pleased...

I stumbled upon a Half Price Books in my area. After seeing all the great finds people seem to have at HPB I decided to step on inside.

    Sega Genesis Secrets Volume 2 - $1
    NES Game Atlas - $1
Nintendo Top Secret Passwords - $.50
Will and Abe's Guide to the Universe by Matt Groening - $.50

The Groening is in mint condition, the rest not so much. Even so, they're 100% intact and fairly good condition. I'm happy!

These games wer 1.95 each, and the NES was $125. Talked them down from $150... it is new, never used; just opened. Checked for scatching on the sides of the controller buttons and the pins on the game... new!

Not a bad day at all at the swap meet. Decided to go this morning even though az legend seemed to have cleaned it out, and I'm glad I did.

First, saw some guy with some DVDs. I found King Of The Hill season 1 that surprisingly had all the discs and were mint. Asked the guy how much, he said 5. I offered 3 and he took it.

King Of The Hill: The Complete First Season (complete, mint) - $3

Next went to the guy that has everything priced at a dollar. He had a bunch of big ziploc bags full of CDs and PC games that said $1 for all on each one. I looked through them, nothing struck my eye, then I saw system shock 2 in one and bought that bag. So for $1 total I got: (all are mint and complete unless noted)

    System Shock 2
Treasure Mountain! (I have nostalgia of playing this as a little kid )
Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor
    Wheel of Fortune (SEALED)
Quantum Gate: An Interactive Movie By Greg Roach
    Unreal Tournament
Heavy Metal 2000 + bonus disc (discs only)- I have no idea what this is, a cartoon?
Everquest: The Ruins of Kunark (disc only)
Some booklet thing with a bunch of educational games and CDs such as schoolhouse rock
Scene It Jr. The DVD Game Disc One (SEALED)
Theatre League Season Sampler (disc only)
Tom Clancy's Rogue Sphere Black Thorn (disc only)
Interludes: Soothing Sounds of Nature and Music
    World Of Warcraft Trial Edition
    David Oistrakh Violin Concertos

Then I went over to the place I got the big saturn lot at, where he has good video games usually all priced at $2 each, and found:

    Dreamcast:
    Grandia II (mint and complete)

    Genesis:
Sword of Sodan (complete, cover of manual ripped off)

    It was $4 total.

Then, I saw a guy with a big pile of saturn stuff, I was going to buy all, but he wanted $60 for everything and I only had $35 left on me. >_> He said $4 each for games, most were crap but out of them I picked:

Nights (complete, not for resale version)
    Clockwork Knight (complete)
Interact Memory Card Plus (complete, now I can finally save my saturn games!)

    $12 total

If anyone cares enough pics will be up later in the week.

It's been awhile since I've posted here....

Chrono Trigger for $7.99 at Goodwill. Fully functional.
-"Are you talking out of turn?"
"No, I believe we are all talking together."
-"I normally don't do interviews with women unless i fornicate with them................(long pause)......................so you shouldn't talk anymore..........unless you wanna....you know..."
    -Mike Tyson

"I may like fornicating more than other people, it's just who I am. I sacrifice most of my life, can I at least get laid? You know what I mean? I been robbed most of my money, can I atleast get a blow job?"

Alright, so I went to visit my Grandma for her 78th birthday, so I took a trip up to Ohio (Around Gallipolis if anyone is around there) so of course, I got random hunches and stopped off of the highway to search for some thrift stores and flea markets =). So here is all what I found. The trip is chronological so from the first stop to the last stop, it's exactly as it happened.

First Stop: Mt. Airy, NC (Near Mayberry for any Andy Griffith Fans!)

    From an Antique Mall:
    ~Ms. Pac-Man (Factory Sealed!) for Atari 2600 - 6$
    ~Millipede (Also Factory Sealed) For Atari 2600 - 6$

    Next Stop: Hillsville, VA

    ~Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner CIB - 6$
(This is my fave since the meat of my collection is based around PS2)

Next Stop: A Rummage Sale at Tupper's Plains, OH
    ~ Complete Intellivision System w/
~ Coleco Donkey Kong For INTV
~ Mattel Auto Racing for INTV
~ Mattel PGA Golf for INTV
~ Mattel Las Vegas Poker & BlackJack For INTV
All Games have box, but no manual

They had it for 20$ for all, but I offered them 10 and they bit. =).
Came in a VIC-20 Box though, that was kinda weird.

Next Stop: A Thrift Store in Athens, OH

    ~ Bubsy (Loose) for Genesis - 2$
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare for GBC (Loose) - 2$

Next Stop: Alligator Jack's Flea Market in Pomeroy, OH
    (All Loose)
    ~ Amagon for NES
~ Parker Brothers' Return of the Jedi: Death Star Battle for Atari 2600
    ~ U.S. Games' Towering Inferno

    All 3 for 5$

Then I was walking around, and I saw a random Metroid II: Return of Samus for GB just lying around on a table. I asked the guy "Is this game for sale?" he says " Do you have a system to play it on?" I'm like "Yeah" so he says "Just go on and take it then" He smiles, I smile and then

~ Metroid II: Return of Samus (Loose) - FREE =)

I was about to leave and I see a guy, and he's got one game, Street Fighter II for the PC. Never seen it before so...

~ Street Fighter II for PC - 2$

Next Stop: Leaving OH, going to a BIG Flea Market in Charleston, WV

Alright here we go...first table I went to, there was a guy sitting there with just a pile of games, mainly Atari 2600. I say, how much you want for these? He says Well I usually get 5$ for each (I'm thinking Oh God...) but if you take em all...how about 3$ a piece?(Still too much) There were 23 Games total so that's 69$. So I tell him Lemme think about and start to walk away and he says, how about 25$? My eyes did the cartoon thing, where my eyeballs turn into money signs. So here we go...

~ Ataris' Combat, Black Label for Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Space Invaders, Black Label, For Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Missile Command For Atari 2600
~ Colecos' Venture for Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Night Driver for Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Berzerk for Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Star Raiders for Atari 2600
~ Ataris' Vanguard for Atari 2600
~ Major League Baseball for INTV
~ Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack for INTV
    ~ NFL Football for INTV
    ~ NBA Basketball for INTV
~ IMAGICs' Beauty & The Best
~ Fantastic Dizzy for Sega Genesis
~ Disney's The Jungle Book for Sega Genesis
~ Disney's Aladdin for Sega Genesis
~ Wrestlemania: Steel Cage Challenge for Sega Game Gear
~ (Non Game Item) Gameshark Pro for N64

All These Are CIB (Also Overlays if Theyre supposed to have them)

~ IMAGICs' Star Voyager for Atari 2600
~ Mattels' Horse Racing for INTV
~ Mattels' Armor Battle for INTV
    ~ Mattels' Tennis for INTV
    ~ Mattels' Boxing for INTV

Got all that for 25$! =)

Still at the Flea Market in Charleston

    ~ Mario's Tennis for VB - 2$
    ~ Red Alarm for VB - 2$
    ~ Wario Land for VB - 2$

Next Stop: A Little Thrift Store in Mt. Airy, NC

~ Xena Warrior Princess: The Talisman of Fate for N64 - 5$

And thus ends my thrifty voyage. I think I did pretty well, I've NEVER seen a factory sealed 2600 game, so theyre on my display area currently.

    ~ Nick

Ugh. Either you got Heavy Metal 2000 (sequel to the Heavy Metal animated feature based on the magazine), or... this.

New stuff today. The NES games, Perfect Dark Zero guide, and Street Fighter cards all came from Vintage Stock in Tulsa, OK (the location right off of Yale) and cost right about $40. Everything else came in the mail from a Canadian DP member:

I'm in Louisiana again, and it seems every thrift (except Goodwill) is closed on Monday! In fact, a whole lot of stuff is closed on mondays, like doughnut stores. Anyhow, at a Play N' Trade I picked up Omega Race for the 2600 and Trolls on Treasure Island for the NES, both loose. $1.99 and $2.99, respectively.

Snagged the following lot from a local game store:

The store's original price for this lot - $150.00
Cash amount from my pocket AFTER trading in 55 penny guides - $40.00

May not be complete but I can't argue with the final price or the condition. The box has some wear but everything else is near mint.

Very happy to have this one in the collection.
We saved some guy's life. Killed some vicious murdering lichs and blew up something big. I'd call that a pretty good night.
