Hell ya I would be interested in a Neptune. How about releasing another CDX type console?
I've written off buying an FC Mobile. My problem isn't your fault, but Nintendo's fault- the cartridges are bigger than the system and just stick out too far.
The portable Genesis I would buy. Face it, Sega's licensing this thing out for 2 reasons-
1) They keep making medoicre games and are losing money, they need whatever income they can get.
2) they know the Sega Nomad was pure garbage.
You want to include 20 games. Stuck, no doubt, with only the Sega library and no 3rd party stuff. Problem is, sticking in the Sonic games is pointless because most anyone buying this to play cartridges has the Sonic games.
Since this will be a handheld and the combined cartridges would stick ot and risk game lockups from shaking, see if they'll let you slap on the combined Sonic 2/Sonic & Knuckles and combined Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles ROMs. This is possible as the separate combined games were unlockables in Mega Collection. There's also Blue Sphere, the game you could access when locking Sonic 1 onto S & K.
Honestly, you'd be better of cutting it down to between 5 and 10 games, otherwise you'll compete with all those non-cartridge handhelds Sega licensed out. Though I'm certain if you contacted Wisdom Tree, they'd license out the Genesis ports of their games for dirt cheap if you wanted filler.
I wouldn't worry about 32X compatibility. It'd be too heavy anyway and the damn 32X needs to be plugged in.
You're right, we are stuck with only the Sega library. Sonic & Knuckles is on the original list of games and until I get my hands on the elusive prototype (after toyfair my coworkers left it behind with the traveling booth materials) I'll be able to test if slapping a normal Sonic 3 cartridge will work with the built in S&K.
The twenty games originally offered by Sega:
(Absolutely not the final list).
Alien Storm
Altered Beast (Keeping)
Sonic Spinball
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle (I hate this game).
Arrow Flash
Kid Chameleon (Keeping)
Decop Attack
Crack Down
Columns III (Keeping)
Sonic and Knuckles (Keeping)
ESWAT: City Under Siege
Ecco
Gain Ground
Flicky (I have no love for this game)
Golden Axe (Keeping)
Dr. Robotnik's Moon Beam Machine
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (Keeping)
Ecco Jr. (Don't like this game either)
Jewel Master (Don't like it, but my boss does)
Shadow Dancer
Edit: Some of those games I haven't played and will probably be replaced but don't expect any great third party games. I wanted Herzog Zwei but that's made by Technosoft.

Sounds about right. Some of those are the usual crap titles Sega throw onto things as filler. I think Flicky only shows up because Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Adventure retconned the game into the series.
The only way to make the built-in S&K work with a cartridge is if inserting a cartridge doesn't automatically lock out the built-in ROM chip. It'd require a boot menu to select the games.
I noticed you're also working on a regular Sega Genesis console. Either install a working 32X with it or include the necessary mini-DIN connector port so the 32X can work with it. I already have a Genesis/32X combo but if you can make it work and add an s-video output I'd look into it. No reason not to use proprietary controller ports, either. Use the standard Genesis ports.
As for the wireless controllers, if they're RF and the receiver can work in an old Genesis, that'd be ace.
You probably won't be able to add in a Sega CD for a budget console, but there is no reason you can't build in the connector port on the side that would allow it to attach to a Sega CD... which would leave you room to release your own separate version later.
As for the reset button on the FC Mobile 2, you could make it a spring-loaded slider switch instead of a button. Might help prevent accidental presses. Holding it over would be the same as holding the button in.
The reset should be a button, and the power should be a non-slider switch.
As long as it's not RIGHT above the controls like the power button on the original DS, it will be fine.
Tofu, Do you know which GOAC will the Genmobile (whatever the name is) Genesis handheld will have?....
If it is based with the tectoy-580G hopefully will see Sega Master compatibility...If it is the latest TCT-6705, don't expect much from it....I really want to see something else smaller with good compatibility other than what I already have.....

I mean, you company can even manufacture/sell these SMS converters and make a bigger profit... They are not expensive to built...Some of mine are even homemade....And get a slogan as "Double the Action"..

Tofu, what are the other systems Hyperkin made? I've never seen a clone system that couldn't play the games you listed, and you sell the FC Twin on your site, which is compatible with all of them, sans Castlevania 3.
What NOAC is it based off of?
I hope the FCMobile 2 will be awesome because I have put off getting the FC Mobile for a couple months now, waiting for the new one.

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been responding, I'm currently on location in Las Vegas for the ASD/ASM show and I'm just too cheap to pay the $12.99 wireless internet fee at my hotel.
I see some questions here about chipsets and GOAC/NOAC. My department is sales and I do love retro games but I know nothing about chipsets and my Mandarin is too poor to ask. The compatibility list that I posted was made by an engineer in China, and I doubt that list is complete. The FC Twin is sold by my company but is made by Yobo.
My company does make other clone systems but you won't see me making any glowing comments about them. All of them would have benefited from a retro gamer's input and were designed before I joined the team. I do not like proprietary controllers.
Some other news. I did get my hands on the retroGENmobile and it's no surprise to me that Virtua Racing does not work. My Boss might not like to see me being so honest but I'm sure you guys would eventually find out anyways. But at least with this information I can begin a push for Virtua Racing to be included in the preloaded games.
Great!...that almost further lets me know that the RetroGen is going to be based either on the newer 6705 ASIC or even worst, the Titan Goac/Moac chip..

Well, if it means anything, that issue won't stop me from buying the RetroGEN Mobile. Much like the original FC Mobile, I think many of its flaws can be forgiven simply because there really isn't another device like it on the market. As long as it can play Raiden Trad and El Viento, I won't be too concerned.
Hey, is Hyperkin at the Midwest Gaming Classic? I remember a store owner here saying he was going to bring some FC Mobile 2's back with him.
More info at AtariAge, release must not be far off:

I will not hesitate to plunk my money down for the FC Mobile 2. My NES collection is getting bigger by the day.
