You guys don't sound very hopeful, lol. I don't blame yall though. Silent Hill is my favorite survivor horror series and I hate seeing it get shady games. But you never know, maybe they can pull this one off. *crosses fingers*

There's a huge difference here, even if you consider the fact that Silent Hill and RE4 are nothing at all alike outside of crazy monsters. First off, RE4 on Wii (which I consider to be the definitive version) was handled by people who understood how to best use the Wii motion controls to perform a function that was already in the two original versions: in this case, aiming your weapon and a few QTE's. There's a direct control parallel between the two inputs, that being that the Wiimote simply takes the place of your analog stick when you're capping Las Plagas. Silent Hill had nothing like that at all. It's not a shooter disguised as a survival horror game. It's straight up third person survival horror action, pre- RE4.
Consider also that the last couple Silent Hill efforts by US contractors have been disappointing to say the least. Let's also not forget Castlevania Judgment, the last time Konami treated us to a fan-favorite-franchise Wii incarnation. Utter garbage.
Here's hoping. I'm going to let someone else take the bullet first, though.
Also: no combat? Is this Silent Hill or Haunting Ground?

According to IGN the game will be titled Shattered Memories, will be a "reimaging" of the original and will be available on PS2 and PSP as well as the Wii.
Now I'm all down for anything Silent Hill, but I would have much preferred a nextgen remake of the game if anything.

Thats what I'll probably end up doing as well because I play very few games on my Wii. I still need the PS2 version of Silent Hill Origins as well.

I was a huge fan of the orginal... hell they even filmed the movie in my city...
it was new and different at the time, but is there not an orginal idea left anywhere these days?
remake FF7 only because I dread playing it again on the ps1 I need newer graphics...
You are 100% correct and this is why I haven't snagged it yet. Why is this game still priced at $30 new? I got the impression that half the people liked it and half the people hated it.
