I checked Blockbuster and they don't rent systems anymore. I'm interested in trying out a PS2 before I buy.

If there's a Family Video near you, I think I saw the other night that they are still renting systems out
I haven't rented a system since the mid 90's. (Sega Saturn)
Currently Playing: Day of Defeat (PC)

Why did blockbuster stop this??? They had been doing this for what seemed like forever? It was always nice to rent a system before you buy it regardless of the rules.
I think it's a shame too. There was such a horrible experience with the PS2 (internal and external theft), damage, people stuffing PB&J sandwiches in the disc drive, that I guess they thought replacing the PS2s and carrying Xbox or GameCube wouldn't be worthwhile. I've rented out systems to people since the 32X and I know that they've been nothing but a sucess (except for the GBA and the 32X). There is a rumor floating around that Blockbuster will rent all three major systems in the near future, though it has yet to be confirmed. Oh well... Just spend some time at a Best Buy, GameStop or a friend's house to try out and decide what system is best for you. Though I think you should just look at the games that you are interested in to decide what to buy. Besides, the deposit used to be almost the same price as the system!Originally Posted by XpOsUrE
Hastings Entertainment Superstores, which is a big chain in the southwestern and southern U.S., still rents PS2, GBC and XBX systems. They even have N64 titles still for rental! God bless `em!
