So, yeah, I've been playing Ar Tonelico for the last few months (I have like ten games I'm playing concurrently, and I barely have time to play any of them) and am now near the end of the game HIGHLIGHT TO READ SPOILER (unless they decide to do ANOTHER fake ending). During the course of playing the game, I really grew to love the characters and setting and, in particular, the humor. And I started to come up with a bunch of jokes of my own.
I decided that I'd really like to make a webcomic based on Ar Tonelico (and probably the sequel when I get around to playing it). It would be called something like "The Making of Ar Tonelico: Outtakes, Deleted Scenes, Bloopers and Gag Reels" or something to that effect, so that it wouldn't have to tell the whole story of the game or anything, but would be more like, behind the scenes footage or stuff that was cut from the game, including ad libbed lines and whatnot. I feel like that would give me the greatest leeway since I could even do something outrageous or weird and just label it as a gag reel.
Here's the problem: I have NO artistic abilities at all. So I think I pretty much have two options: find someone who'd be interested in doing the artwork, or reign in some of the weirder tendencies and just use screen caps from the game with my own dialogue pasted in. Most of the ideas I have now would work fine just using screen caps, but I'm worried that certain things I'd want to do would be impossible that way.
What do you guys think?
