Can this be converted to play on a modded PSP after it's been patched?
Mika: Where are you taking me, Gillian?
Gillian: To look at videos on YouTube...
Mika: *sigh* No more videos of a drunk Harry dancing with a dead Snatcher...
Giliian: Nope, it's better...Its LiquidPolicenauts YouTube Videos!
Gillian: And after that, you should also visit

Thanks for the hint about the Softmod. I never knew that they had come up with a way to do this with the old fat PS2. Unfortunately it looks like you need a Action Replay device to make this work, so no Policenauts for me...

Just want to say again how awesome this game has been thus far. It also got me to pull my modded PS1 out of the closet and reacquaint myself with my favorite imports: vib-ribbon and Internal Section.
I've actually never played Snatcher. But this sounds like a great excuse to break out the debug station.
holy crap! So There are several version of Policenauts for the PS1, which version works?
duo_r: I think all PS1 versions are compatible.
I've been enjoying this so far, though I'd forgotten how noticeable the PS1's dithering can get! It's too bad they didn't release a Saturn version too.
Indeed, all the releases of Policenauts (Original, Best Of and PSOne Books) work with the patch. The only one that doesn't is the PSN version released in Japan...
The PSOne version was the easiest (though it was in no way easy) out of all the versions to translate. It also has the most ways to play it (Modded PSOne, PS2 modded or swap trick, PSP, PC via emulator). The Saturn has an emulator but still isn't as stable as the ePSXe emulator (though that in itself has a few issues) and its a bit trickier to get a Saturn backup to work on a system that doesn't have a modchip...

Oh, I understand the Saturn version wasn't going to be easy! It makes sense that a Saturn translation was not going to be practical, or was going to take much longer, and it would be useful to fewer people. What I'd like and what's practical are two different things!
played on the PSP! This totally rocks, I played and beat this many years ago with a translation guide but this is going to be awesome!!!!
Got a problem with patching the translation.
I've downloaded Policenauts CD1 [NTSC-J] [SLPS-00215].mdf, and I downloaded IPSWin 2.0 for patching, but when I add the .mdf file and the patch file for CD1 (policenauts_patch1.xdt), I only get an error after a bit of loading saying "The IPS file appears to be not valid".
Do I need to rip the game myself? I have the PSX version, so it wouldn't be a problem, just asking.
