They introduce yet another new model, and the sole difference is a larger hard drive? I was liking the idea of finally having only one version of the PS3 on the market. Enough of these pointless variations.

You can also stream the videos off a PC using a media server. That way you conserve HDD space on your PS3. I also do this as well.
Also, I have a softmodded Xbox with 250GB for this purpose...and I find it does a better job at playing movies (using XBMC) than the PS3. Definitely recommended, since a softmodded Xbox simply rocks.

Well for some people 120GB might not be enough. If someone accumulates enough games that require around a 5GB install to the HDD, that 120GB is going to get eaten up pretty fast, not to mention the amount of space that downloads from PSN can take up after awhile. I have the original 60GB and it's almost entirely taken up by game installs that are anywhere from 3-5GB for the most part and I only have a dozen games or so. Can you imagine how fast 120GB would get eaten up for someone who has 3 or 4 dozen games (it probably wouldn't take some people that long to accumulate that many PS3 games considering you can get so many of them for dirt cheap now), plus PSN downloads whether they are demos, movies, or whatever. Maybe they don't want to have to replace the factory HDD with an after market HDD, cuz that voids the warranty if I remember correctly, if they replace it within the first year any way?
