(Hmm, is this Classic Computer Gaming? Ah, I don't know.)
One of the last titles from 3D Realms is this overhead racing game by Remedy. And now it can be yours for free!

i love this game! but only for windows eh? im too lazy to do all that partition crap
Oh, nice! This was one of my mainstays back on my old DOS computer (and is still a mainstay on my DOS laptop). Plus, it has been updated to run on Windows? Very nice. Anybody who is into arcade racers needs to check this out.

I love this game and actually own it CIB, but I've never been able to make it play on either of my DOS gaming machines.
Everytime I go to install it says I don't have sufficient RAM... both systems have 128mb.
Judging from http://www.dosbox.com/comp_list.php?showID=681&letter=D , it might not be able to recognize large quantities of RAM.
In fact, they even released a patch to fix the problem.

A patch?? Holy crap thanks!
Oh hey, Remedy did this before Max Payne?
I'm rather disappointed to realize this isn't Carmageddon, ah well. I'm halfway tempted to try this out, but by gosh 3DR put out some cheesy stuff.
Dude.... Carmageddon was awesome. But so was this too. Awesome.
Great news! I haven't played this in over a decade, but I remember thinking it was awesome at the time.
Sweet god, this game is horrible.
No WAY! This game was the SHIT back in the day.
Once you get away from your VW Beetle the game gets better.
I remember playing the demo of this game for-e-v-e-r when I was younger and couldn't find the full game. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be downloading that one later!
This game is absolutely awesome!
I've played a lot and a lot at childhood and for those who don't know it, get it and play it!
It will look a bit blocky with big screen size... =/
Death Rally is a fantastic game, I loved the game back then but lost the CD some years back so it's been a long time since I've been able to play it, unfortunately... so this is awesome, awesome news. I remember the game being kind of short and easy, but extremely fun while it lasted. I've loved top-down racing games for a long time, and this is one of the better ones of them out there for sure. The only flaw is that it is a bit short and easy... but even so, awesome game. I'm definitely downloading this so I can play it again.
Thanks for the heads up. After getting my own first PC in 1997 this was one of the three games that got me hooked bigtime on PC gaming. The other two were Doom and Quake.
Wow, I was just thinking of getting the original a while ago (it's kind of hard to find here). But this free version is pretty awesome, thanks! I remember playing the demo back in the day and I was absolutely hooked. It's a great racing game similar to Supercars and Roadkill on Amiga.
Looks like there's a version of this for Steam and iOS now – but not for free.
