.:Collection Pics:.
Odd assortment of finds from this weekend, all from Goodwills:
Xbox Crash TwinSanity – complete - $2.99
PS1 Dual Analog controller - $1.99
Halo 3 Master Chief vs. The Flood figure NIB - $4.99
Gears of War 12” Marcus Fenix figure NIB - $9.99
But the best by far was the first addition to my 2600 collection in at least 3 years, and an R7 to boot. A loose copy of Xonox Robin Hood for the 2600 in mint condition for $1.99. It was at the end of a row of cassettes, and there were no other 2600 carts in sight. In the past, when I have found rare 2600 carts, they were part of a huge pile of carts. Lately, I have been seeing 10 to 20 2600 carts at a time with nothing rare. So this was a very unusual, but very welcome find!

P.S. Almost no kids showed up for Trick or Treat, so I am also starting the month with a huge surplus of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!

Not technically video game related, but I got a Zenith portable record player today, the kind with speakers attached to it, for free from someone I know.
Not all of it was exactly found today, but I digress:
Genesis model 2 (hookups, etc not pictured) plus 18 games for $40
Good deal since I can sell a couple of the games and the system and make my money back, plus a bit.
$27 for the 40 NES games shown. Note-worthy games being: Dragon Warrior 3, Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3, Lolo 2. I kinda took a chance on this one, there wasn't a list or a good pic, but I figured, for less than $1 per game, I'd check it out.
That's beautiful.
If I had a sealed DWII it'd be in some sort of display case thingie.
This reminds me of the time I found a copy of Glib (2600, also ZOMG RAREZ) at my local flea market. The seller had a random assortment of 12 games in a box. Most of them were 7800 games and one was a C64 cart (which I bought). I think there were like 3 2600 games and one of them was Glib. It's odd cause like you said, you usually find rare Atari games with many commons.
Have you seen the incredibly rare, valuable, and fugly
MenAvision Atari game?

In case you were wondering exactly what that game is:
(I borrowed this description from racketboy.com's of the holy grails of game collecting article.)
The only game released by the company “MenAvision” (clever), Air Raid is quickly gaining the notoriety it needs to become the Holy Grail of Atari collecting. Two of the most recent sales have reached over $3000, and for the loose cartridge alone.
The game itself is a standard shooter along the lines of Space Invaders. Much like that Taito classic, in Air Raid you’re tasked with defending endangered buildings from rapidly lowering space menaces, the primary gameplay difference being that your ship is above and not below said buildings.
Air Raid’s cartridge is perhaps the strangest looking for the 2600, disregarding the need for a title and having both a handle and a sky-blue finish. its this unique image that is likely to remain at the forefront of a collector’s thoughts, driving the desire to find it extremely high.
its unknown exactly how many copies were printed, but Air Raid’s rarity suggests that it may have seen the most limited production run of any commercially released Atari 2600 title.
