well now there are 2 unless i somehow got a hold of DreamTR's copy which i highly doubt. this copy came from a small videogame shop that went out of business about a year ago. so where it came from before that is now a mystery lost to time.
i remember noticing some differences from the final print. such as the intro's music but it's been a rather long time since i've played them that i have forgotten.
along with the mc kids proto i will be playing this one over as well and documenting the differences.
aaaaaaaaaaaaand, with all do respect BeaglePuss, every thread i open will have some sort of significance.
so here i leave you with a picture of my copy of the blaster master proto.
(for those who cant read the stickers, they read:
blaster master
sample version 88'may 20
sunsoft
sun corporation of america
this demo sample contains a special warp feature not found on the production version. this will allow the player to warp to any stage)
That is definitely a different copy, but it does have the same label and features as the other copy that was discovered (the one in Dream's possession).
Are these the only two prototypes that you have, or did you happen to find more? Are you an avid collector of prototypes, or just lucky to stumble across these two?
I hope you didn't take my post as being rude, I just thought it might be easier to have all of your prototype questions/comments in a single thread.
I know "we" dumped a review copy of this game. I don't remember what's different, I think the mountain tiles during the opening cinema and some debug stage skip features?
Please don't title them 'More proto questions', 'Yet more proto questions' and the like. Be descriptive. Generic titles like this are useless for anyone searching the forums down the road.
DreamTR's copy has the same exact thing. EDIT: Maybe I should read Mrmark's post again.
There's like 4 Blaster Masters running around I think...
