Has anyone else been able to get their PowerPak to work on this? I have played mine for a few hours and no problems.

Concerning the D-pad on this system. Thankfully it is all one piece underneath. I was experimenting this morning. I took a blank DVD case, cut a disc the size of a penny USD. Took some tape and centered this over the four buttons. This creates a better gaming experience. It gives you the sense of more control and accuracy. If you are like me, I use the center of my thumb on a traditional cross button D-pad. That is why I find the four button atrocity so awkward.
Games like Star Fox, R-Type, Gradius, play so much better now. Now I need to figure how to make it permanent.
Well, Stone Age Gamer, I suppose you will be getting an order from me as I need one of tese units for review in Classic Video Gamer Magazine #4. PM me with ordering details as I also have a few questions for you.
Ok so I got mine in mail 2 days ago (unfortunatly my postal office customs kept it in their office between 12 and 18 of january -don't know why) and the little thing is a cutie
Not as big as I expected witch is a good thing - and the games are working fine (at least the games I've tryed so far - I don't have too many US SNES games - my collection is almost all PAL games)
A few things thow
1. the NTSC-J games doesn't work (the console has the little protection for the cartriges) - only ntsc can be used
2. the LCD switch is RUBBISH !!! - i tested on my plasma display then I tryed to switch it back and I had only a black - white - green - red screens - but the sound was working fine - I tryed almost all the games - same screens over and over - then I tested on TV and the image was fine, when I force-pushed down the switch I got image (but is was not centered, a few mm were moved to the right) and bingo - the problem is the switch ... I just hate it
3. the butons on the console are not very good - in fact when I've played Rtype it was a real problem to adapt, but on the controler everyting was fine, maybe if a revision is make with better D-pad controls It definitly needs the upgrade
4. my conclusion - ... a dream come true (for me) - finaly a portable snes witch works similar with the real thing - so buy it
PS: again I thank to stoneagegamer for his excelent and fast dispach and the protective packing - thumb up
This is what mine finally ended up looking like.
There is such a world of difference in the D-pad with just this simple mod. It acts and feels more like a traditional pad.
"rodarkone" I think you will have better performance from that switch if you turn the system off before you switch it from TV to LCD.

belive me I've tryed all the posible switching methods -
console off and console on (doesn't seems to be any difference) - maybe my switch is broken or it's not well soldered - who knows - anyway i use it for play on the go so don't care about LCD switch
One thing I have always wondered is that if they can put the traditional Nintendo-style d-pad on the wireless controllers included with the system, why do they put that stupid Sony PlayStation style d-pad on the main part of the console?
DERP
Well, I opened my FC 16 Go up and tried to tinker with the dpad. Nothing of note, so I put it back together. I think I screwed up my "L" button in the process. Oh well.
Tofu, do you know if Hyperkin's SNES portable is coming out soon? Can you talk about that right now, or is it "mum's the word" until something is announced?
I can't speak for Tofu, but I talk to him 2 or 3 times a week. Well I call it talking, he probably calls it annoying him.
He hasn't mentioned much about the Hyperkin SNESp lately. I think they were bidding on the available SNOAC's since Ricoh can only make a certain amount make per year. I think Yobo, Hyperkin, and Innex are bidding on some.
Don't quote me on that though, I could be completely wrong.
I hope it's something good, like a PCE clone, or a console to play GBA games on a TV.
I think the LCD/display switch is fine .. the console has a problem, the screen doesn't seem to get any signal and changes white/black then red/green/blue and loop (on the display also the sound is there) on LCD cable it works just fine.
After I try a few games it's comming throu then .. after restart / or reset / or changing the game .. same problems appear.
I definitly think I have a broken one
That's just my luck (
