It's real, and you'll see it tomorrow:

congrats Frank on the buy looking forward to seeing it
the harest thing would be convincing people that this is the real one
Wait. So the real Bio Force Ape proto was found, no shit? And it's a completely separate entity from the fan made re-interpretation based upon the hoax here? Seriously, really?
Shi-. This is great news. I guess this thread has finally come full circle.

if it's indeed real (c'mon, we'll all have doubts until we see it!), I actually feel more bummed about Prog's game not getting the attention it deserves than excited with the find itself. I'm with AB Positive on this one, he's probably put much more love into his version then SETA on the real thing...
Blowing on cartridges since 1987
After reading all the recent posts, I don't know whats real and whats not. I guess wednesday migh bring alittle light to some of the confusion.

Nice of them to rip DP. From their link:
This page is dedicated to one of the most legendary internet hoaxes of all time
The malicious and often petty ROM community received more than a dose of poetic justice when a prankster
confused many, but humored more, when he pretended to find an extremely rare NES cart of a game that never
left development. He went so far as to create very persuasive screenshots, very outrageous screenshots
and even "destroying" the cart, driving some ultra internet virgin nerds to great anger and hate.
The board that this thread was on may be gone, but the legend lives on. Read below for one of the greatest memes ever.
What you're quoting isn't from 1UP though, but another site they link to in their article.
Not sure why they didn't link to this thread directly instead of the archived site, but I seem to recall at one time DP didn't show its threads unless you're logged in, and I'm too lazy to log out and see if this thread vanishes or not.
