Did Dr. Who Pinball play the theme from the show?

I seem to remember it sounded similar but was not the same, but some people insist it was the same theme.

Were there different versions? If not the TV theme, why not?

It was the original theme, but done through the hardware.

Not a sampled/digitized version of the TV show theme.

That is the theme I heard, sounded different in the arcade with all the other machines going off too.
