So, seeing the 360 thread about collecting, I wondered if anyone was collecting PS3 games?

I'm currently at 212 (229 now) PS3 titles, doesn't include what I have downloaded from PSN.

This could be higher, but I'm waiting for more games to drop below $15

120 or so for me. Been a year since I got the system, so I don't think it's too shabby.

I don't buy PS3 games just to 'collect', but I can't pass up any clearance games that I might eventually someday kinda like to play. Just counted and I have 122 retail PS3 games. Paid $3-$15 for most of them. ~75% are still sealed. Probably have about 30 PSN downloads too... most purchased during PSN sales using cut price PSN point cards. I spend more time playing the PSN downloads than retail games.

While I don't have a "head count" on my PS3 games I'm sure it's over 100.

In general I tend to buy the bulk of my cross-platform console software on Sony systems as (until recently anyway) they've done the best job of maintaining backwards compatibility in their software library.

Even cross-platform DLC games I prefer on the PSN due to their 5-copy DRM.

I only collect games that I enjoy so I currently only own 39. There are a few games I'm missing that I've yet to pick up while a few games in my collection that I want to sell. I might be up a couple once I eventually pick up those games and sell the others.

Not really targeting to "collect ps3" as well, just happened to pick up stuff as time marched on. At last count about...

- 60 gig US PS3
- 250 gig US Slim PS3

peripherals... bunch of various joysticks, pads, stearing wheels, headsets/mics, kbs, etc. However most notable for me:

- 2 Hori Taito Vewlix joysticks (also got a pair for my various 360s)

Yea, well Target/K-Mart/TRU all were great for getting games cheap. Although they do not clearance games as much as they use to in my area.

I'm at 20 games or so. I basically only own PS3 exclusives since I buy multiplatform titles on the 360 due to the controller and Xbox Live.

The only exceptions are Dirt (I enjoyed the 360 game so much I wanted to also see how the PS3 port turned out), IL-2: Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (The PS3 version was superior so I passed on the 360 release), and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (Also have it for the 360 but wanted to see how it turned out on this platform).

I'd be very surprised to ever pass 50 retail titles for this platform.

Seeing as how I don't currently own a PS3(yet) pretty much all the games I have for it can be considered collected. I've purchased a few games for it whenever they've been on clearance but I've sold most of those on ebay. I currently only have three PS3 games in my own collection but I've been thru a good 20 or so that I've sold.

Same here, I only buy games that I will actually enjoy and play. I'm only at around 20 or so, and the only other PS3 games I plan on picking up in the near future are Gran Turismo 5 and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Most of my consoles I have 25 or less games for max, with the exception of PS2. I don't collect just for the sake of collecting A) because it gets too costly after a while and B) I just don't want that much stuff sitting around.

I, too, just buy games I want to play. I was at 16 games on my last count. I know it is just one shelf on my small bookshelf and the gamecube has 2 and a half shelves of that same bookshelf.

Damn, some of you guys have tons of disposable income! I have around 40 Wii games, and I thought that was a lot for a current generation system. 200+ games for a system where most of the games sell for 50+ is insane!

Yeah, I'm in the "games I want to play" group. I'm of the mindset that current generation is always expensive to "collect" for. Right now around here PS2 is where my collecting dollar is spent. When this gen is next gen I'm sure I'll be all over PS3 collecting.

I cannot even find more than 20 games on the PS3 worth buying. I have maybe 15 PS3 games, 20 360 games and 30 Wii games.

I always buy the games on their best platform so I will never buy any first person shooter on a console, PC is where it's at

I'm in the PS3 exclusives only group. I love the titles I have for the PS3, but I like the controller/online play much better on the 360. I even bought FFXIII on the 360. I mostly use my slim for a bluray player. I really don't know why I haven't gotten into it. Maybe it's because all of my friends have 360s. I only have 5 games on PS3. MGS4, Demon Souls, Uncharted, Tony Hawk Project 8, and Brutal Legend (the last two were on clearance for virtually nothing).

I would probably play more RPGs on the PS3 if I wasn't so caught up in the whole online gaming world. I play a lot of MW2 and I never thought I'd get into FPS on console, but damn...it's addictive when you have a ton of friends playing at the same time.

I'll buy FFXIV when it's released on PS3 just because most of my friends will be playing it already on PC or buying it with me. I'd probably buy it on 360 if it was being released though. I can't believe I'm even saying that, but it's true.

I absolutely believe that the hardware/software on the PS3 is superior, but the 360 just has more things going for it if you have a ton of friends who are on Live. If you would have told me that I'd have 50+ 360 games and only 5 PS3 games 4 years ago, I would have laughed in your face.

Just remembered! I picked up Batman: AA CE complete for $25 from a pawn show a few weeks ago...even though I beat the game on the 360 I never owned it. Guess that takes me up to 6 PS3 games.

i only have around 40+ but i like it like that, i know what it is to have so many games you kinda lose the will to play due to the staggering amount of choices & just cant decide on where to start (100+ games on ps1 & ps2 each)


still, 200+ games, thats impressive


edit, i tend to play alot of multiplatform games on a modded 360....so that probably plays into my ps3 librarys relatively small size
