I would have actually preferred if they put the GB games on it and Super Mario World and then charged at the $50 price range. It would be cool to get the whole collection.
Life is like a hurricane...
When All-Stars first came out they bundled the 3 previous releases together, added a then Japanese exclusive, and upgraded the graphics 1 generation better. At the time it would have well been worth the cost to buy it even at $60+. Since then 3 generations have passed, couldn't they have just rereleased All-Stars but upgraded the graphics to current generation? Forget converting it to 3D, just update the graphics more.
This isn't just a rerelease, it's supposed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. They could have done something special besides nice packaging and a soundtrack. Even if it would have been priced higher, they could have done something better than this. I actually like Nintendo but this stuff really bothers me, it just seems really cheap of them.
Can anyone merge the other thread here, I'm the one who said it
I got a thread about it, but I'm glad it's coming here
No, I expected this. I just hoped for more. They actually further upgraded the games for the GBA when they got rereleased for that system, it was certainly a possibility that they'd do the same for the Wii version.
It doesn't really matter as I don't even have a Wii right now, it just won't be something I'll be desperate to get in the future.
so we are sure this is confirmed for the U.S.?
let's have a toast for the *******s.
I'm sort of hoping they don't make any 'enhancements' to the game.
The last thing All-Stars needs is the gay Mario voice, and you all know that's the first thing they'd put in there.
So now that everone knows we in America will be having the super Mario allstars 25 anniversary edition for wii in December I have a question.
It is being released in "limited" numbers. Does that mean it will be sold out everwere in a hurry and on eBay for big bucks? What do ya think. I pre-ordered on copy for myself. Maybe I should get a few. Thanks
Hah, touche! On the other hand, when it came to the Super Mario Advance rereleases, it seems they gave up on that after the first one.
It would be pretty neat to see SMA4 get a proper rerelease; shelling out for the necessary hardware to use the nifty e-reader features is just ridiculous.

I just hope they don't charge $50 for this package. Since all of the games are on VC, it shouldn't cost more than $30.
I think, either way, this may not be a day 1 purchase. I sincerely doubt this will be a day 1 pickup (nothing is these days). I'll give it a week, listen to the hearsay, then probably not buy it anyway.
I've heard plenty on the net about how this will become "rare" like the metroid compilation... but then again, with a little digging and a car you can still certainly find that compilation with little trouble.
Nope. It is being stocked by every major retailer. It's also the same three games you can get on multiple systems and the booklet and CD sountrack sampler aren't exactly premium items. This will absolutely not be rare. But, for $30, it's not too bad of a deal and lots of people will probably pick it up.
Is there some reason you didn't post in the existing thread for the game?
The "Limited Edition" title may be more than just hype. It just sold out on Amazon (before it's even been released). I'm guessing if you're not on the ball and let this one slip by, it'll be a little pricey for the next few months. Definitely more than the $30 it's retailing for.

think they will restock? Wow thats insane.
It's Mario. Nintendo isn't going to release it as a Limited Edition. That's nothing more than a sales tactic I'm sure. It'll still be selling years from now for the same price. Just like Mario 64 DS. They probably didn't expect so many people to want to purchase it so Amazon's launch date stock might be "random number here" and all that stock may have ran out.
I already have my copy pre ordered from Amazon. Can't wait to get it.
