I love Pit-Fighter for Genesis but I rarely hear anyone else say something nice about it. It's amazing to me that so many people dislike this game.

I can't imagine why you're amazed by that. It's HORRIBLE. Hell, the actual arcade game was awful. I remember when a friend of mine purchased it for Genesis the day it was released...it went back that same day. Just terrible.

I really like Silver Surfer on the NES, after the AVGN video all anyone could say about it is how bad it is.

Well, I think the Genesis version ida pretty god, actually. At least it's faithful to the arcade version.

Now the SNES version, THAT'S an abortion.

Bebe's Kids for the SNES isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, I'm pretty sure most people who say it's horrible haven't played it on an actual system. The controls are awkward but once you get used to them it's fine.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Subzero for the PSOne, once you get used to the controls the game is really fun. I enjoyed the whole needing to gain experiance to learn the special moves and having a limit to how much you could use them. It had that feeling of making you learn the combo's/fighting system so as not to rely on just specials.

Gauntlet Seven Sorrows and Shadow the Hedgehog come to mind, but I gave Shadow another go a while back and didn't dig it as much the second time around.

    Billy Hatcher!

Much underrated and hated title by Sega fans. To me it was the most Sonic Team-esque game Sonic Team came up with last generation. And it's pretty damn good!

where do I even begin? many games I enjoy are hate by most everyone!

Deep Blue (TG-16) - I liked this game and the graphics and music are great making me enjoy it more - this shooter is challenging and at timed cheap, but I love to overcome it! I able to 1cc the game, though I admit stage 4 does need a bit of luck to reach final boss…

Predator (NES) - I have fun playing this game… jumping is very floaty, but I like the challenge and I keep at it… I have not conqured it - yet but I will… one day!

anything on the Atari Jaguar… the Jaguar is a console of hatred by everyone, but I love it, and I enjoy playing the games of the Jaguar… games of much hate that I get enjoyment to play:
    Cybermorph
    Trevor McFur
    Club Drive
    Attack of the Mutant Penguins

these titles are receive much hate and I love playing them!

many more I could list… if it is hated, then I probably like it…

Yeah, I liked that one too. It seemed almost an homage to Sonic Team's history, in that it combines little gameplay elements from various games they've done.

I absolutely LOVE Keith Courage in Alpha Zones. It's the game that made me buy the TG-16. But many historians say that it was a poor choice by NEC as a pack-in for the console. And that Super Mario World (SNES) and Altered Beast (Genesis) were very good choices by their respected companies. In fact Keith Courage is sometimes sited as being one of the main reasons for the TurboGrafx-16's downfall! Whaaaat?!!

Some games that I've heard a lot of criticism of that I like:

    Bujingai: The Forsaken City
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
    Dead or Alive Xtreme 2
    Dr. Chaos
    Fantasy Zone: The Maze
    Final Fantasy X-2
Final Zone II (I especially love Momoko's BGM track, which everyone despises)
Mansion of Hidden Souls, The (SEGA CD)
    Rumble Roses
    Rumble Roses XX
    Shinobi (PlayStation2)
    Trapt
    Zillion II: The Tri-Formation

Deep Blue was definitely a fun little game that doesn't deserve the hate it gets. I think most people that don't like it probably didn't have the manual that explains a very important part of the game, you regain your hit points when you don't attack. I was terrible at the game until I found scans of the manual online and figured that little bit on info out.

Keith Courage is a really fun little game and I even have the Japanese version coming in the mail. Now even though I love the game I do feel that it was a bad choice as a pack-in title. Altered Beast, while not the greatest game in the world, did show off what the Genesis could do and sadly Keith Courage didn't do a good job of showing off the TG16 hardware. By no means was Keith Courage the downfall of the system in the US though.

Now that I've mentioned Altered Beast, that's another game that I enjoy that everybody seems to hate. Hell I even like the Master System port even though it's missing a level and has jerky scrolling.

WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade Game gets so much hate, despite the fact that it's the only western wrestling game with gameplay that doesn't put me to sleep. Every other wrestling game is sluggish and dull, while Wrestlemania is fast and fun, and yet somehow it's the black sheep. I guess rasslin fans don't like all the crazy over the top stuff that game does, but pro wrestling is a campy farce to begin with, so I don't really care.

Blue Stinger is nowhere near as bad as it's reputation. It's goofy as hell, and the CG is just atrocious, but it's playable and has a reasonable difficulty curve. I had more fun with it than I ever did with Code Veronica.

I think I'll third Pit Fighter. I remember playing it on Genesis with my brother a lot and we managed to beat it a few times, by we I mean I'd die within a few levels and he'd end up finishing it solo.

Sewer Shark - I don't think I've met a single person who doesn't lump it in with "those crappy FMV games." It's fun. Both to play and to watch.

M.C. Kids - Not as universally hated as Sewer Shark but I rarely meet people who have nice things to say. It's actually one of my favorite platformers on the NES.

Mega Man 5 - No Mega Man ever gets a lot of hate but this one tends to be placed at the bottom of a lot of lists yet it's one of my favorites in the entire series.
