Best way to clean a WII?

Hello,

I recently purchased a used Nintendo Wii and the console itself is a bit scratched. I am wondering if there is anything that can be used to polish it up that won't damage it. I tried doing a google search and was unable to come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

At the store where I work we use Clorox disinfectant wipes to clean most stuff up, followed by drying it with a micro-fiber towel. This isn't going to help your scratches, but it'll get the system looking nice and shiny.

Not really sure about fixing scratches. Maybe a touch-up stick, like you use on a car? You might try posting a thread in the technical and restoration section if you don't get a good answer here.

I clean systems and carts with Windex and paper towels, it won't help with scratched but it cleans plastic nicely.

My boss tells me I should use Windex instead of the Clorox wipes, but I just like them better. I did use Windex to clean up a bunch of old carts today though, as we were out of wipes, and it did work pretty well.

Use some soap , I think its really gross your telling people how you clean your wii keep it to yourself pervert.

Sandpaper and rubbing compound is the only way I can think of that might work, more info here. Although its my opinion that its not really worth the effort or the risk unless your Wii is beat to hell or you feel like experimenting.

I also use the Clorox wipes to clean my gaming accessories and it works great. I am really just trying to figure out a way to polish this thing up. I may try contacting Nintendo as their live chat was closed last night.

I was hoping there would be some sort of rubbing compound for plastics but maybe there isn't.

I assume its just surface scratches kind of like what happens to the clear plastic on top of a DS lite? If so you might try one of this plastic polish compounds though I've never tried them myself.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about. Do you know of any such compounds or where I could find them?

You might be able to find something like that at a hobby shop, someplace that deals in models.

ive had good results with mequire's sctratch-x resurfacing CDs and DVDs. you could potentially use a headlight restoring kit. bot can be found at an auto store like auto zone. or even walmart.
