Yes! It's what so many people want and they would make a fortune from it. But we won't see it because:
A) GameFreak are lazy.
B) The current series is still selling so amazingly well.
Apparently though Nintendo have being approached with the idea by developers. I'm guessing it didn't take.
I reject your reality and substitute it for one of my own!
Don't know about Entree Forrest, but Game Sync syncs your game to your account at pokemon-gl.com I believe so you can do dream world and ranked random battles. However pokemon-gl.com is not up at the moment and is going to be up in some time like a month or so.
What's up with islands? Get more land.
What's up with deserts? Get less sand.
Also for a tip, incase you don't know a properly trained Excadrill in the meta-game with Sandstorm going, is one of the best strategies ever.

I'll definitely pick this up sometime soon. TBH, I still need to finish the second part of HeartGold o_O
Enjoying the crap out of Black so far. Not a very difficult game so far, haven't had to do much in the way of grinding.
lol, i absolutely destroyed everyone in the ice gym
i think every pokemon i had so far had at least one anti-ice move.
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
I pre-ordered and got this, but am too busy with some other games right now to sink too much time into it. I'll turn it on to get the Victini download (since WCDPatcher doesn't yet support B/W Wonder Cards, and who knows if it will?), but probably won't do too much with it besides that for the time being.
I'm not sure what to say about the posts that say that "Pokemon isn't innovating." In some sense I agree with this...the most innovative thing that happened to the series over the past decade has been, IMO, the Colosseum games for the GCN. Stealing "shadow" Pokemon from other trainers, and having no (or few, in Col 2) random battles, was a fairly big change from the "formula" that, indeed, hasn't changed (more on this in a sec).
On the other hand...if you ever check out a site like Smogon.com, you can see how a seemingly-trivial thing like triple-battles can be huge. There's a whole meta-game that's built up around the game, where competitive battling hinges upon all sorts of combos and tricks that would never really occur merely in the single-player game or even the occasional random battle.
But then again - Smogon itself has a whole article about just how much this fifth generation game is a re-hash of Red / Blue:

You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?
Flying gym down. I notice tha this game is a lot more forgiving than previous ones. Previous version seem to discourage having only one well trained Pokemon, while this game openly encourages you to train three at a time. I've pretty much gotten as far as I have riding on the back of Tepig and it's evolutions.
I would love to download the pass for Victini, but the DS sucks eggs at picking up a wifi signal. I guess I'm just ogint to have to invest in a USB wifi connector for my laptop.
FYI, the Global Link that can sync your game to the online site is up now (scheduled to be up for tomorrow) for American games.

There a place to exchange friend codes for this game here? I'll edit this post and put mine in when I get home.
EDIT: I'm 1635 3916 3098
EDIT2: Sent an Audino up to the Dream World...taking about 5-10 minutes for it to "start dreaming." It shows I sent it up there; just won't let me into the Dream World yet...
EDIT3: Dream world is pretty cool - it's a web / flash-based minigame where you can transfer guys / items to and from your NDS cartridge...will have to wait until some of the other players around here (locally, not on this board necessarily) to see how the friend thing works.
EDIT4: Takes a few days for the Dream World to "get busy," but this is fun - berry patches, little mini-adventures and games, and so forth. The thing that really sucks is that they make it way easier to "friend" random people in the Dream World than it is to get your real-life friends onto your Dream World account. You have to have them registered in your Pal Pad AND you have to have had some Wi-Fi "encounter" (presumably trading or battling, or something, although I've yet to register and encounter one of the peeps in my friends list). Why you can't just friend someone in your friends list directly...I have no idea. Kind of lame.
