Alien Crush FTW!
I've had sessions with that game that have lasted hours. One of the most brilliant video pinball games of that or any era!
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
I have never really played any video pinball games though..I want it to have a good value for me.
It's not really sim'ish or anything, it's got all sorts of video game quirkiness to it. The table is like a huge, living alien environment, with all sorts of nasty freaky things to attack and disturb, and there are little bonus games you play along the way that are extremely 'video gamey' in nature, and not very pinball'ish at all.
I'd never played a pinball themed video game before Alien Crush either, and I'm NOT a big pinball fan to begin with, but Alien Crush just had to much charm and uniqueness that I'd play it for hours at a time. Still, if it's not your cup of tea, that's understandable. Perhaps you could borrow a copy, or emulate it to test it out before you decide to purchase or pass on it.
Technically Legendary Axe II is rarer than Alien Crush, if they're the same price you might want to get that as it would be easier to find Alien Crush in the future. That said, I enjoy Alien Crush a bit more than Legendary Axe II. Both are good, I just like the pinball game more. Devil's Crush is also good.
I know you didn't specifically ask, but I was thinking about inexpensive Turbografx games and one game that should be at the top of almost everyone's list is Ninja Spirit. They must've produced a lot of this game because its price has remained very low over the years, but it's a remarkable arcade-port ninja platformer.
The visuals, music and controls, while not arcade-perfect, are about as good as you can ask for with the TG16. I usually end up playing through it about once a year; it's short but sweet.
i would go with Legendary Axe 2 if i were you.
I hope you guys didn't do me wrong, I have Military Madness, Sidearms, and Victory Run (as a free gift), coming in the mail, hopefully be here by Friday if nothing gets f*cked up in the mail where I live.
Still up in the air about Alien Crush, Legendary Axe II...can't figure out which would be better.
I would take suggestions for other games in place of the above to, tell me what you like about it!
Thanks you all, Neutopia, and R-type have been played the most recently for me.

Wow, that's a new one for me. Does that mean you don't hate it now??
Anyway, I also think World Class Baseball is fun and of course, dirt cheap. Since you've already played Neutopia, be sure to play the sequel if you don't mind spending a decent chunk of change on it someday. The first two Bonk games are relatively inexpensive and they're both great.
You mean LA and LAII share the same engine? If that's what you mean, then they don't. The first LA was developed by Aicom and LAII was developed by Atlus and/or Red (going by credits and GDRI research.)
People criticized LAII for being too different from LA, accusing NEC of America of doing a rebadge of some sort, but even in Japan the games were meant to have a connection to each other. LA was named "Makyou Densetsu" and LAII was "Ankoku Densetsu"... similar in gameplay but different in setting (like the Alien/Devil/Jaki Crush series.)
Remember sir, when you ask for the opinions of the masses you are at the mercy of those opinions.
While I think you can trust the DP community when it comes to the quality of classic games, there really is no universal truth when it comes to personal opinions. You're ultimately going to "like" what you like and nothing we say about how good a game is is going to change that.
Though, IMO you've listed really solid selections from the TG library. Hard to lose with any of them.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
No i love it! I just had to press select, thought (first time) that i only had sword, and i was only testing to make sure it worked. But now, i play it quite often, very fun and addicting stage where you can jump onto the ceiling keeps getting me though
I trust you guys, i am sure that the games will be awesome, i just wanted to hear people's opinions of games they personally like, also the ones on my list. Thanks!
