Holy disappointment, Batman. Hopefully they'll nerf the shit out of XFC so it'll at least be reasonable.
Strider, Vergil, Ghost Rider, and Dr. Strange are nice additions(or maybe not, but some favorites of mine in the Marvel and Capcom universes.)
Still no Mega Man. Gene, or Ryu(BoF,) yet they add in Phoenix Wright. It's like saying "we know we've been screwing the entire fanbase over, but how about we appeal to one group of fans by bringing a character who doesn't even belong to an action game into the Capcom fighters list." It's retarded. Atleast with Ryu there is enough actions in the later games you could see a resemblance of a fighting style in both games.
Probably because they'll be included in Super Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 so they didn't mind setting them up as preorders this time.Edit: Also, Lamestop preorders get additional costumes. Goddamnit.
You know what? I've never felt trolled before. Now I have. :/
In Heaven, everything is fine.
Since Iron Fist is in there they'd better add Luke Cage.
And they'd better have some sort of in-joke involving both Phoenixes.
I wouldn't have cared so much but then they had to throw in Strider!
Well I figure theres another 5-10 years before they release Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 so from now till then we still have another 4-6 "upgrade" versions to partake in.

Shiat...I just bought the PS3 version at Best Buy yesterday (for $14.99). Oh well...that's how it goes I guess. I enjoy fighters, but refuse to pay anything close to original retail for them.

YAY PHEONIX
By the way, what happened to Howard the Duck as DLC? Or did that get canned?

Still no Mega Man??? Well, this is cool anyway -- and YAY Ghost Rider. When I saw Dormammu I was wtfing over why him and not Ghost Rider (the other flaming head Marvel guy), so now I can shut up about that I may have to buy a [xbox 360 or ps3] after all.
I saw the leaked roster on another site...
Capcom
Strider - Good choice, he should have been in from the beginning
Firebrand - A nice touch I suppose though I would have been fine with just Arthur representing the Ghosts n' Goblins/Ghouls n' Ghosts franchise
Vergil - Ugh. 3 DMC characters and no iteration of Mega Man?
Frank West - No problem. I figured Chuck would have got the nod since Frank was in TvC already.
Phoenix Wright - Good choice. Capcom has a ton of franchises it can pick from and yet...
Nemesis - another RE character. That makes 4 now?
Marvel:
Ghost Rider - Sure, why not. I like Ghost Rider okay enough.
Dr Strange - Also not a bad choice
Nova - I wouldn't have expected Nova to make it in but I've always liked the character so that's cool
Rocket Raccoon - Off the wall choice and I'm actually pleased by it.
Hawkeye -Sure I guess
Iron Fist - Nice choice again.
For me anyway, seems like the Marvel side got the better end of the deal in terms of new characters. Strider and Phoenix are the only two I really wanted on the Capcom side, though I'm not mad about Frank or Firebrand being picked. Vergil and Nemesis I could have done without. One of their spots could have been filled by Mega Man and the other spot I would have given to another Darkstalker like Victor. Hell, if it had to be a guy with a sword, why not Bishamon?
"Ai Oboete Imasu Ka?"
They must be saving mega man for the next iteration when they figure interest has dropped off a bit.
They can put all the sweet ninjas and attorneys and fiery leather bikers in there they want: If they don't fix X-Factor and nerf the shit out of Phoenix, this is a no-sale for me.
phoenix can only shoot one fireball at a time now, so there's one nerf at least
wolverine is also much slower and can't combo as easily as he does in vanilla
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
I guess Capcom feels they're not hated enough yet. I haven't liked Capcom much at all this generation, obviously, because something I'd post is how they treat their fans like shit. Capcom really screwed up this time. After all the current hate towards the company they have the balls to throw out there that new modes are going to be available at release but not only do all the MvC3 fans have to pay for UMvC3, now they have to pay for the new modes, which will more than likely place that $40 game at above $60 if you were to get all the DLC.Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 won’t be out until November, but Capcom is already cracking on downloadable content plans. Players will be able to purchase arrange costumes and new modes from PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace.
According to Famitsu, one new mode players will be able to add is unlimited hyper combo mode. Pricing for this mode has not been announced.
Hurry up and release DMC HD Collection, Crapcom. I don't want you assholes pulling out of the gaming business because you're throwing money away before I get one of the only HD remakes I'm interested in. Wait. This is Capcom we're talking about. Might as well throw them along the lines of EA Sports releasing the same game over and over again. They're not going to even come close to bankruptcy.
Come on, remember how they cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars and released Capcom Fighting Evolution instead? Of course you don't.

I do. And we bought it because it was a new fighting game, even though it sucked. Jorpho has wisdom.
Kupo, everyone I know will buy UMvC3 because it will be popular in the competitive scene, or conversely, because its fun to beat up Ryu with Dante on the couch with friends casually. This formula has worked for Capcom for decades in one way or another. It's unlikely to stop working now. Hell, I don't much care for MVC3, but at forty bucks I'll take a chance...assuming they nerf phoenix and x-factor.
I got to play this at Evo. The only characters I messed with were Ghost Rider and Strider, and I had some fun with them both. Especially Strider. Even though he has low health, he was incredibly mixup heavy and I can see him being a huge problem to deal with when compared with a lockdown assist.
I was never great at MvC3 just because my primary means of playing is online play and the game's net code isn't the best, simply because the game is so fast. Hopefully Capcom follows through with what they said and the net code will be great. Also, I'm totally going to use each new character extensively. I really need a character to compliment Felicia and Doctor Doom. Speaking of which...Felicia can delta kick in the air now, which I am incredibly hyped for. Unfortunately my bread and butter combo didn't function the same way...when I SJC'd Rolling Crystal Flash off of Toy Touch, apparently too much hit stun decay occurred and they recovered out of it. I guess I'll have to learn a new BnB.
Doctor Doom seemed way faster like all the reports said. I swear, everyone is probably going to use Doom in UMvC3. He seemed damn good.
