Default Good site to pick up refurbished/used 360?

Looking for a trustworthy place to pick up a 360 used or refurbished I saw one on lukiegames I liked but when I went to get it, it was gone . Preferably a 60gb Pro model. I thought about ebay but there is just too much uncertainty to me.

Used 360=uncertainty, sorry. I got one that works great, as long as it has a fan plugged in, or is propped up. I could go pawn it, they would test it and be satisfied, put it on the floor, and...
It overheats at your house. Buy new, or from a friend, is my advice. (I ONLY give this advice for 360's and PS3's).

If you're buying a used Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 you need to be really careful. Especially with the Xbox 360's.

The best advice I can give, is to find a deal on a brand new one. For example, there are people that sell $100 gift cards to Amazon for like $70. You could buy two of those for $140, and then use the $200 Amazon credit to buy a brand spanking new Xbox 360 that you can be confident will work for at least one year.

If you do buy used, I would make sure to buy one that isn't more than 9 months old. Ask for a receipt. Look around for somebody that bought one less than a year ago, but need the money for whatever reason. Ideally, you'd really like to find one less than 6 months old. I'm not sure if the Xbox 360 warranties are transferable anymore. They used to be awhile back, but I'm not sure if they are anymore.

Another option, is to look on Craigslist for a gift card to Wal-Mart or Target or Best Buy or something like that.. Look for a $250 gift card, and offer them $190 for it or something like that. Or offer them $165 for a $200 gift card. You could find somebody with GameStop store credit. Offer them $180 for $230 worth of GameStop credit. Meet them at the GameStop, and have them buy the 360 for you, and give you the receipt, and then you give them the $180 cash.

Amazon is the best option because of the no taxation and free shipping. (no tax in certain states for the time being....)

You also might want to wait another month and a half and see what sort of Black Friday deals there might be on the system this year.

Just make sure you get a jasper and its not banned from live. Pawn shops here have tons of consoles and will let you test em. They have so many in stock that aren't selling that they will deal with you. I got mine with a 120 gb hard drive and 4 games for 180. If you get a jasper you really don't have to worry about it red lighting.
I collect Intellivision, Genesis, GBA, Virtual Boy and N64. PM me if you have a z64 for sale or trade.

    Fuck no.
They don't actually re-furbish them. Often the so called "refurbished" at Gameshit is less reliable than the used ones.

I would also recommend against used ones. However, if you absolutely must get a used one then you might want to consider craigs list. You can often find really good deals there and you can test the system out before you buy it(as I did with my PS3 slim). Also, you might even be able to get a used 360 slim for a decent price. Refurbished 360's and PS3's are pretty much setting yourself up for failure unless you get a really good extended multi-year warranty.

Here's the problem with a used, even tested, 360. I could sit you down with mine, plug it in, we could play for an hour. But it's a finicky little bitch. Set it upright, RROD. Leave it on for 6 hours, RROD. Play it in a warm room, RROD. I know how to make it work great, so we could test it, and all would seem well. Then you get home, and cuss at it like I do mine.

I wouldn't buy a used 360 unless you're willing to repair it at some point. That being said GS does offer a 2 year warranty on the 360 for 30 bucks. If you're going to go used you might as well go that route and get the warranty so that you're at least covered for when it fails and within 2 years the new one will be out anyways and you won't care about the 360 anymore.

Avoid Gamestop at all costs. Dear god they suck. You can try play n Trade. Not that they are a great place but do systems repairs. I worked as a Gamstop manager for 2 years and I would not trust anything from that craphole. GS just turns the console on plays for 5 min then says it's ok. Refurbished often gat returned or wanted an exchange more than used. Either re furb or used from GS you will have to keep going back.

Does this mean it'd be difficult to sell my 120GB elite? I wouldn't mind the right excuse to upgrade for slim. Old 360's no matter their condition are loud. Not that other systems like Dreamcast weren't either.
    Lum fan.

Avoid all used 360s unless you need expensive bookends.
