Most people hated Raiden in the core game/stealth portions of MGS2, and most people loved Raiden in his NPC ass-kicking segments of MGS4 ... so, give him his own ass-kicking core game and ... people hate it?

Does not compute.

I'm not saying I hate this game, it looks like it could be great? I just hope it doesn't stray too far away from traditional MSG gameplay and turn into a hack and slash?! The sword fighting element looks very cool, I just hope this new developer also puts in traditional MGS gameplay like stealth and crazy boss fights. I loved MGS2, I didn't give a flying fuck that you played as Raiden the second part of the game. Like someone mentioned earlier the only things that I didn't like about MGS2 were the random, nonsense codec conversations between Raiden and Rose, and the storyline just trailed off too much about things that had nothing to do with the main plot line.
