Which home console or computer ports helped you play the real thing in the arcades? Emulators don't count. It has to be a conversion.

Yes Street Fighter 2. Although once I got real good on the SNES D-Pad it felt odd adjusting to the joystick in the arcades. I quickly learned though since I played at Golfland in Sunnyvale.
Another one is definitely 2600 Q-Bert. People will laugh at me for that. Yes it lacked a lot of the features of the arcade (Ugh & Wrongway) but the overall skillset of it, the speed of gameplay, knowing how to deal with the changing colors, killing Coily, etc. made me a lot better at the arcade version

Most home computer ports were so hopelessly distant from the arcade games that they are not worth considering.
