Default The Tony Fox NYC CD is IN!

I just received the first shipment of "Digital Press Records" (yes, you read that right) first production: Tony Fox NYC: I Am Humanoid. Man is this sweet!

These will launch at CGE and will be available through the DP site afterwards.

The music is a classic gamer's dream, especially if you like bouncy dance and house music. There are 16 tracks, each featuring a combination of Tony's instrumentation and video game samples. Some of my favorites include "Storm Clouds Over Gyruss" which puts the awesome Gyruss theme music in a whole new light; "Mr. Do! vs. Dig Dug", a dueling-banjos style tune that ROCKS; and the ever popular "I Am Humanoid", which has been remixed into two new versions that have their own unique sound while maintaining the frantic pace of the original (which you can still listen to HERE.

I'm really excited about this! I've been working with Tony for over a year on this, and it's really nice to see and hear the final product.

Since there's no way in hell I can attend the CGE (although I'd love to), I guess I'll have to wait until it's available afterwards.

Hey Joe, ya wouldn't want to slip a copy of that out early to a popular classic gaming site which also has a well-stocked music review section, would ya? Heck, I'd even pay for the thing.

Let me ask you guys this: What would you expect to pay for this CD?

I think I can send them out early, too. I just need to check that with Mr. Fox.

For something specialized, professionally pressed and duplicated, by mail order, I'm used to paying in the $15-$20 range. (Judging by stuff like fan club exclusives and small-run pressings of stuff that I've gotten in the past.)

But what's that? A free set of steak knives? NOW how much would you pay?

    Default CD price

I'd say sell it for $15 if you won't lose your shirt -- it's still a bargain compared to the new Best Buy et al price of $14 for some, $17 for most. You'll still move them at $20 probably, but not as quickly. If you can manage $10, you'll sell lots I'd think.

Maybe for next year's CGE we need to do a DP all-stars CD. Tony? Buffy? You up for it?

    I'm down for anything!

I just finished making a track that all of the featured artists can play live on stage at CGE 2002 utilizing a wide array of samples that the musicians are accustomed to playing on their acoustical instruments!

    It's gonna be insane!

Well gotta resurrect this ancient thread, as I truly came to love this CD, which got a lot of playtime in my car.
However to my greatest regret the CD is broken now due to an accident at home and so I wanted to ask, whether there are any left at all for sale?

Unfortunately I've got no idea where else I could get one nowaday ...

    Kind Regards,

I'm *pretty* sure that I have a few of these left but they're with my CGE stock in storage in Las Vegas. I won't be back there again until E3 and not sure even THEN if that particular box will get unearthed. I guess what I'm saying is that by CGE2k12 I'll know for sure. I am positive that I have the follow-up CD and if you're interested I have a few copies at the store in Clifton, NJ.

Yikes, that would be to good to be true!

So it's crossed fingers time I guess.

When exactly is the CGE2k12 gonna happen?
And can you be so kind and drop me a PM/ Email when you know for sure?

That would be great, as my family (and actually my whole life) is currently quite effective in distracting me from such important tasks as retrieiving my favorite CD.

    Excellent!
Could I combine this with the other CD, so to save shipping costs to Europe?

Kind Regards and thanks in advance,

Hey Joe, might be the first time I've heard of this... If you find them, bring 'em to CGE (or E3 if they turn up then), I want one too!

For sampling the first album, see Allmusic: http://www.allmusic.com/album/i-am-humanoid-r608157

Yes, there's a second CD, titled Save the Humanoids. It's in the same style as the first album, so you either like it or can't stand it. One of my favorite tracks on it is GaLaGaLaXiaN.

Joe has said that he was pretty sure he had some copies: "I am positive that I have the follow-up CD and if you're interested I have a few copies at the store in Clifton, NJ."
