The theme to Moon Patrol sounds like the riff in the song Since When by 54-40 (I've known that for years but forgot which song it was, and in my mind it was by the Tragically Hip...).

Parts of the Dolphin Park music from Wave Race 64 sounds a hell of alot like the Mary Tyler Moore Show's theme:

I'm surprised no ones mentioned this

Holy crap indeed! That's insane! What year that come out?
I remember hearing there were quite a few parts of Earthbound, or maybe it was Mother 3 that didn't allow it to be ported over here due to Beatles references and some other stuff, but I'm too lazy to find the link.
Level 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3 of Kid Icarus for the NES has a clip of some (I think) US Revolutionary War tune I've never been able to quite put my finger on. Fast forward to 2:07 here:

Can anyone tell me what that is? I've noticed it since I was 8 years old.

I always thought Smile.dk's 'Butterfly' from Dance Dance Revolution sounded a lot like the chorus from Die Antwoord's 'Enter The Ninja:

Found out later that Die Antwoord admitted to ripping it off. Go figure.
Everyone knows by now that Michael Jackson's "Stranger in Moscow" is awfully similar in certain ways to Sonic 3's end credits music. Recently I noticed Daft Punk's "Superheroes" also has some similarity. Not the whole song, just a certain part.

The opening theme in Vanguard sounds like opening titles music from "Star Trek: The Motion Picture."
Interesting stuff, here (COMPLETELY unbiased opinion, hehhehheh):

Donkey Kong Country 2 title theme REALLY resembles the theme from the film Hook

Metal Man stage music from Mega Man 2 resembles a sped up version of the song We are One in the Spirit.

Wow this thread is old!!!
Well I happened across this video on YouTube and indeed it seems that thunderforce 4 intro sounds very similar to Dokken : lightning strikes again.

Pretty sure that one's a coincidence. I have a buddy of mine, Jay, that used to listen to too much Dokken and pretty much every hair band that sucked, ever. If you're a Dokken fan, I apologize. See, the thing is, there were a lot of bands that had that almost exact same riff in every song. That riff style is quintessetially 80s. My friends used to rag on Jay all the time because every time he "wrote" a new guitar riff, it sounded exactly like that Dokken and TF4 riff. We'd laugh our assess off because it was it literally sounded like the same riff every time. This was in the mid 90s. Now granted, we were all metalheads, but even us metalheads knew that waaaay too much 80s music was absolute shit, but Jay loved all of it. The worse, the better. There is a large group of us that used to hang with Jay and every time we heard a cliched-sounding 80s riff, we'd call it Jay Music, or a Jay riff.
The earliest example I know of of a riff like that is in a Black Sabbath song off of 1975's Sabotage (My favorite album ever by them). Scan to 3:23:

A slower version of that riff, for sure, but the same pattern.

I thought Jennifer Lopez did the Kingdom Hearts theme for years.

Which riffs from this part of ELP's Karn Evil 9 ("Second Impression") were lifted for the Metroid ending theme? I can understand the "St. Thomas" lick that Dr. Mario's "Chill" had later used, though.
