Default Atari 2600 jr. not working

Okay, so I just bought an Atari 2600 jr. and tried to hook it up to my old 90's television. I found a signal on channel 8 however it doesn't give me a proper picture or sound... in fact it changes between two static pictures. I have no idea why it's not working but I've tried checking my AC adapter and it seems like it's working as it's supposed to. I have also opened it up despite it still having it's warranty seal meaning it has never been touched inside and it wasn't dirty or anything since the previous owner had kept it in the box and barely even used it. So I was wondering what could cause this?

    The static screens:

Also it appears pretty much mint except for the AC adapter which has been twisted a bit in the box...

There's a switch on the back that switches what channel the 2600 JR transmits to and it’s either 2 or 3 that’s the only channels that the RF will work on. If it doesn’t work on those channels it might be the RF cord.

Nothing comes up on channel 2 or 3 and the cord is just a simple RCA to RF cord and seems pretty new :/ I guess it could be faulty or something?

Is there a game in it and has the games contacts been cleaned?

Yeah I've tried with the 32 in 1 cartridge but I can't really test if it's the game since It's the only game I have atm and I've cleaned the pins on the game but not the console since it has barely been used so the pins look pretty new.
