Not true. The third parties would be losing more by not supporting Sony than they would in used game sales. Developers aren't supporting the Wii U because games aren't selling, not because Nintendo didn't block used games. Once Wii U sales increase, they'll get more support.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

It really wouldn't change my buying habits personally. I rarely buy used games, but at the same time, I don't buy that many games on a yearly basis any way. I only buy 3-5 games per year, a few being full price and a few being discounted. It looks like used games will still be around this coming console generation, whether publishers put limits on playing used games, remains to be seen? EA has already abandoned using those game codes to play used games, and I suspect many other publishers will follow, as it hasn't been a very popular move with the gaming community. I personally don't think Sony, Microsoft, or anyone else is gonna go through with blocking used games and/or charging fees to play them, as it's become an increasing unpopular move.

100% yes. I am a VERY late adopter, and I collect games, so this would essentially end any reason for me to buy that system. That said, I still haven't gotten around to the 360 or PS3 yet!

Yes, absolutely it would. I can't afford to buy every game I want the day it comes out at full retail price so most of my purchases come from used games. If I no longer have that option then I will rarely buy games AT ALL. Forcing this game download/registration policy on the next batch of consoles is a horrible idea and I hope it comes back to bite Microsoft on the ass. So far I have a really negative impression of the next Xbox and likely won't be getting one. So I hope that they keep supporting the 360 longer than they did the original Xbox. In fact, I hope that the 360 outsells the XBone long after the holiday launch, just to rub Microsoft's face in it.

I wonder if the Xbox One will self destruct en masse like the 360 did, and what kind of headaches you'll go through to play your games on a replacement console. I assume they'll be locked to a user account rather than the console itself?

We've already seen issues like this with the WiiU (being locked out of paid content), and that console's infrastructure is nowhere near as complicated as what they have planned for the new Xbox. I can't imagine the headaches someone is going to have to endure if they have to exchange a defective unit.
