Im Going To Play A FF Marathon, help me stay with it, Please?

For an update, I played some of FF X since a buddy had a copy and I wanted to give it a test, and I really love the characters, so Ill use his cheat disk to play that game, yes Im a cheater, but damn it that grid system we both have a passionate hatred of. I think he got that disk just for FFX and another game too. So Im at Nanaki's village and Ill finish up his trial by the time I am set to leave for the night. I just need to get outside and I missed a big thing yesterday as I mostly slept at odd times. This weekend I plan to be outside more, but Ill get through the first disk well before the end of next week. Ive been grinding a lot so thats kept me busy in the game.

If I'm going to do a Final Fantasy marathon I'll just be watching playthroughs on Youtube, only a few of the games seem interesting enough to play through. It's even faster than cheating through the mediocre games.

I'm sorry, but if you need to cheat to get through Final Fantasy VI, you suck at video games. You should find an easier hobby.

And you're using cheat codes on FF4 and it's the US FF2 version, you may qualify as mentally impaired.

Im really really really really pissed off right now, because I lost a save file that included a TON of level grinding before I left disk one, so now Im either going into disk two quickly and weaker or having to do the grinding over again. So Im going to address these comments and other things that Ive seen online about Virtual Console/Miiverse comments.

And not everyone cheats just because they need to. Sometimes cheating makes the game more interesting, fun, etc. Like the GG mega-jump codes available for many games.

I got Final Fantasy II (US) for my 11th birthday, I believe. No Nintendo Power, no previous experience with RPGs, no game genie. I got to the part where Cecil became a Paladin on the first day. It was a magical experience.

As I said, if you need to cheat to get through these games, you should find an easier hobby. Perhaps learning a new language, like English.

I've actually never cleared the US FFII because I first sat down to play through it all and got lazy/heard about the "real" version, and at the time I didn't have any issues of NP handy, nor did I use much in the way of walkthroughs. And it was a breeze. (I was damn near finished at the time, too.)

I just find it weird how you're saying you're having fun, but you posted this thread asking people to convince you to keep your marathon going. If you were having fun why were you thinking of quiting it? And to finish your marathon you're cheating through it.

In a way it's sort of like Lance Armstrong. He set a goal to win the most Tour de Frances of any rider, and made sure to blood dope enough to get it done.

You can play your games any way you like, I just thought it's a bit strange. I do just watch playthroughs of some games rather than play them, I didn't make that up. I'd rather just not play games that I don't enjoy playing, it's not like I'm paid to review them or anything.

I have to confess that I've started doing that to some extent. Anything that I am not sure about getting I'll watch ten mins of a playthrough on youtube (as demos seem to be tricky to come by in some cases). On occasion the game has looked terrible to play, but strangely interesting (like City of Lost Children on the PS1), and I'll end up skipping through the playthrough to have a look at it.

I was more talking to the people out there including writers at Kotaku who made fun of people who asked help on the Miiverse for help in Super Metroid. A video game columnist made fun of people saying they jsut werent as good as video game players way back in the olden days. I dont like it when people do that kind of stuff, keeps the whole invisible wall up in peoples minds who should be able to play games. Ive dealt with that too much and I lost a whole lot of progress at the worst point in the game to lose progress. So yeah, the lost save file rage was going through me. I havent played much of the game since that writing just because I didnt want to have to go through it again.
