Yay! I'll probably just buy the game and then wait to get the Vita. If I know XSEED there will be a cool first printing for the Ys game or something.
I like to support XSEED and NISA for bringing out niche titles I enjoy, so I don't really mind paying full price for them. NISA has a tendency to sell out fast on their LEs, but you're right about XSEED taking a bit longer. Plus is seems they're trying to give incentives to people so they buy the first print by including goodies (like in Last Story).
Also, there's a line to toe for stuff like that. It seems like the games will be real cheap and then all of a sudden the stock runs out and the prices skyrockets. Finding a new copy of Ys Chronicles or Ys 7 for PSP is a pricey proposition now.
I'll be getting this for sure! Finally another quality vita game.
And today Xseed announced that there will be a limited edition anniversary bundle for Celceta. It'll sell for $60 (the regular edition at $40 will also be available), out sometime during the fall (whether closer to now or to Christmas remains to be seen).

Of course, this had to be announced today, the same day I decide to preorder the regular edition. Looks like I get my order modified as soon as the limited edition is listed in the system...

Looks pretty beautiful to me
Wow...definitely will have to pick up a Vita around the release of this.
These cheap collectors editions are becoming more and more costly with each new release. Even though I can 99% guarantee the "limited edition" is going to still be available a year after release, I'll still preorder it because there's that 1% chance that this will be the first limited edition XSeed releases that it's actually limited.
Well, considering that the three CDs span the entire series, have no repeats from the bonus CDs from the other Xseed-published Ys games (aside from one tune from Ys Seven), and that the total duration is over 4 hours, I'd say that it's well worth the extra $20 for that alone.
Great, now I have to by a Vita. Falcom has a way of making me buy portables I don't want. I even bought a N-gage for Xanadu Next
Lol, Ys 7 had a ton of copies that didn't sell out and since then they've been getting much better at gauging interest. Your best bet with stuff from them is to get it early or within a 6 months now. We're just reaching about a year for when Last Story was released and the first run special edition has already dried up at MSRP. Don't get me started on Ys Chronicles, I almost completely missed out on that LE and was just barely spared the rape prices that are being asked now.
As for Ys 4, I don't even own a Vita but will buy this.
Here is my free marketing advice to Sony: Make a Ys 4 Vita bundle. Then people will double dip to buy the bundle, and buy the special edition from XSEED directly.
But you better make the Vita bundle distinct, I'd love to have one with a cool design on it like the Miku Vita. If you're just going to slap a regular Vita in a special box and give me a digital copy of the game you can go sit on a cactus.
It sure does look great! I can wait to play it. I will probably get the box set, I'm kind of a sucker for those things. I agree with Lady Jaye that 3 discs of soundtrack are worth the price of admission.
I see where you're coming from, but the only people I've noticed that are interested in the Vita right now is that exact niche base of JRPG players. You're maybe right about Ys itself being too small for the bundle, but I think a bundle designed for the people who are into RPGs and quirky Japanese titles would be probably well accepted.
I (like many) have been putting off buying the Vita off for quite awhile, but if there was something that was decently priced and garnered my interested I'd be happy to lay the cash down now rather than wait for a price drop.
I'm so freaking excited for this game. I got a Vita last year and have been waiting for a game like this to come onto the market. Thank god Nippon Ichi and XSEED! Now if only NISA would port Disgaea 4 to the Vita...
I already had the standard edition on pre-order; looks like I need to go in and get it changed over.
