Red face Favorite thing in the collection that isn't a game?

Everybody with a collection has some sort of thing in it that isn't exactly a game, but fits the bill in other ways. Whether its an accessory to a game or to a console, to a statue of your favorite character, Name your favorite thing in your collection that isn't a game!

    I've got several:

My Sega Channel adapter, my X-Band Modems, Mega Man 9 Press Kit, and my various pewter pre-order figurines and bobbleheads from different games over the years (Max Payne, Dr. Muto, etc)

My Nintendo Power issue no.1 my first gaming memorabilia other than a game back in 89 I think. So much nostalgia from the era.

I love my Princess Kitana and Scorpion statues I have. The have two different heads to changed out. Scorpion has 3. The regular masked version, grinning skull and flaming skull. Kitana has masked version and unmasked version. Her fans change out as well. Bloody and non bloody. They look freaking awesome. Also Link riding Epona is epic. It's from Twilight Princess

My Electronic Games and Electronic Fun magazines from 1982 and '83. You can find PDFs of these gaming magazines, and more, here in the Digital Press library.

That and my little old-skool TV (complete with turny-knobs and hue/saturation controls).

Probably all the Popful Mail stuff I've managed to collect over the years. Besides the games I have all manner of promo items, books, audio CDs, posters, and even a resin kit figure (unassembled) in the Popful Mail corner of my office.

Xenosaga Movie DVD. It was a preorder bonus that came with Xenosaga 2( which sucks,) and is a four hour cut of scenes from Xenosaga to play out like a movie. According to a Youtube video there are seven hours of cutscenes though, so quite a bit was cut out, though I think it plays out well.

The thing that holds my collection; the shelving that I built about a year ago.

Not much besides that. I don't really collect gaming memorabilia or anything like that.

I entirely forgot about these bad boys. I love my Nintendo Power magazines. I don't know if I could definitely say No. 1 is my favorite, but the collection as a whole just gives me the warm fuzzies. NP mags are the only non-electronic gaming-related items I own apart from some plushies I bought my wife, but even had I other collectibles, my NP set would be at the top. Still need several more for a complete pre-N64 set, though.

I'm going to go with my mini-collection of Ace Attorney stuff. I got the set of trading figures, both the English and Japanese artbooks covering the first 4 games, the licensed Uniqlo "Objection!" shirt (sadly damaged so I can't wear it any more - has 2 holes near the bottom of the shirt courtesy of a loose metal fitting it got caught on at a former workplace - any suggestions as to what I should do with it are welcome), and a handmade Phoenix Wright plush.

The Phoenix plush was made by my fiancé, who labored for 8+ hours over a weekend to make it as a response to the disappointing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations preorder bonus. (The bonus in question was also a plush, barely bigger than a tall man's thumb.)

I've seen thin fabrics with designs on them placed over backlit plates of glass that look really cool. Depending on the logo or design, the effect can be pretty neat-o.

I don't generally collect ephemera or knick-knacks but my favorite non-game video game item is my Jack Flack pewter figurine from the Cloak & Dagger board game. It's the same exact figure that Henry Thomas' (the kid from E.T.) character uses in the film. Yeah, I know what you're thinking: "But that's from a board game, not a video game!". But as anyone who's seen the Cloak & Dagger movie will know, that film was basically an Atari 8-bit commercial disguised as a spy thriller. Besides, the board game had an arcade counterpart which you can see being played in the movie (on an Atari 5200!). Great flick, btw... an 80's classic! So Jack stands proudly on my game shelf protecting my beloved game carts

I have all sorts of bizarre stuff lying about - I am pretty proud of the maps that I have made for a few games on Excel.

    I have made maps for:

Golden Axe Warrior (just a world map - no dungeons)

    Warsong

    Dark Wizard*

    Brigandine

*This was the hardest - first I had to beat Excel over the head to get it to make hex grids and then to be able to color/fill in said hexes (each hex comprises 4 cells). It was also a large project because of the sheer size of the battlefields. I tried to make a comprehensive world map but the individual maps do not align - there is a major misalignment of a width of about 40 hexes that just doesn't exist on the individual maps when you put them together.)

Hopefully when I retire (which is looming ever closer - about 6 months) I will have more time to make maps - I would like to do some for the Shining Force games and Nectaris (among others).

When I come home from a long day in Hell, there's nothing I'd rather reach for than a fire-brewed bottle of Styx Beer. Made from the filthiest waters from our own River Styx. Styx Beer is a third more toxic than any other regular beer. The worst beer - the filthiest beer - the deadliest beer. It's Styx Beer!

TUrn it into a throw pillow. A friend of mine did that with a damaged Miskatonic University shirt. It's a nice conversation piece.

Hmmm hard to say. Toss up between

    - Ghosts n Goblins/Ghouls n Ghosts and Super Dodgeball boardgames from Japan
    - Large Street Fighter Alpha or King of Fighters 4 ft tall store display standees
    - Various videogame laserdiscs
    - Game related pachislot machines (mostly SNK/NeoGeo)
    - Sonic the Hedgehog Pachinko machine
