Default Ghouls 'n Ghosts (1988) on Commando hardware?

I'm wondering if, during the development of Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Daimakaimura to the Japanese fans), that Capcom considered running it on the "Commando hardware" as 1943: The Battle of Midway and Black Tiger?

I wonder if Miyamoto ate a lot of cheese sandwiches while he was working on Donkey Kong?

(Um, any evidence so we can relate this to something?)
