So Nintendo basically steals the entire show and not a peep here yet?

But Nintendo seriously slam dunked it. Their future line-up for the Wii U is looking pretty good (though still a bit thin until 2015).
My bigger worry is 3DS didn't get much of a showing from Nintendo, which is my primary system. But things are looking really good for games on the Wii U for the near future.

I agree. Nintendo killed it at E3. The new open world Zelda sounds awesome. I love my Wii U and 3DS, but they did not show much for the 3DS, I would not worry.
Toad got a game. Only took thirty years.
The biggest surprise for me so far is the new Crackdown being developped by Dave Jones. I thought the series was buried for good, the trailer is awesome! No metroid from Nintendo is the biggest letdown, this means we might not even see one on wii U when you consider developping a game takes at least 2 or 3 years.
I don't see anything special with Nintendo's conference.
Not a single 3DS release on the schedule that I plan to buy and E3 hasn't changed that so far. And I recognize the quality, but their lineup they showed off for the Wii U for this year doesn't do anything for me and I won't be buying any of these titles except perhaps Captain Toad. And Nintendo's new IP's and their NFC toy figurines didn't excite me although I appreciate that they're trying to do new things.
And besides Zelda, Yoshi's Woolly World, and Mario Maker, what they showed off for the Wii U for 2015 didn't really excite me any. Even Star Fox U inspired more skepticism than excitement since Nintendo's Star Fox track record in the 2000's is less than impressive.

My favorite trailer of E3 was Far Cry 4 trailer and its gameplay video. Game looks absolutely incredible.

To me Zelda looked so amazing it counts as 10 quality games.
I'm just amazed at how much people complain about having to wait for good releases to come out. Like seriously how does anyone have the time or money to buy and complete every single game that comes out when they probably have plenty of unfinished backlog games for past systems or rival systems. It took me a year and a half to finally buy a Wii U due to price let alone the price of others. And I have so much backlog to catch up on I only have time to play Wii U at home on weekends. At that rate it will be a couple months before I finish New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U 100%. Then I can buy another game like Super Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, Mario Kart 8 or Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and that will take some time. Before I know it Smash Bros. will be out. It also doesn't give time for used games to pop up for less money when people are that eager.
I'm guessing we didn't attend the same E3 yesterday. While I am excited about Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash, the fact that Nintendo first party 3DS releases appear to be virtually non-existent beyond Super Smash 3DS (which is also delayed by the way from Summer to October) is seriously disappointing. Super Smash WiiU which is what everyone is eager to play has a vague holiday 2014 window. Nintendo certainly threw out some names, brief demos and concepts for what could be great games, but 2015 is a long way away, and delays can and will occur. On top of that, I didn't see a single third party WiiU game beyond the usual budget garbage on the show floor. In short, while there are some great games on the way, they are few and far between and there is virtually no way anyone can be just a WiiU owner if they have any interest in a broad selection of games. Frankly, I thought Sony stole the show this year with stuff like LBP3, Grim Fandango, Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, and Playstation TV.
When it comes to their conferences, to me it was Nintendo > Sony > Microsoft. Nintendo was the shortest and almost everything looked great, and they had gameplay of everything as well. Sony's was good for the first hour, but there was a lot of ehh moments, and then the middle of the show 30-40 minutes was crap, then it finally picked up for the last 20-30 minutes. Microsoft showed nothing but games, but there was also very little that interested me. It felt more like their conference were aimed towards the current average gamer who gravitates towards those more popular franchises or the bro gamer and little else.
I'm disappointed in both Sony and Nintendo though for ignoring their portables. I assumed Nintendo would show off more 3DS games, but nope. They're not as bad as Sony who's completely ignoring the Vita, but the 3DS has been lacking games just like the Vita, so I'd assume Nintendo would announce a few games. I really want to see another Advance Wars and 2.5D Metroid, so will be disappointed if Nintendo doesn't announce either of those before they launch their next portable.
Last. If I had any respect left for Shahid from SCEE. The #jrpgvita guy which imo is so full of sh*t, I've lost it all after his comment this E3. The US Playstation Blog screwed up and said Type 0 HD was coming to the Vita after Square Enix announced it. Shahid saw it and assumed it was a Vita release and to take credit for it, he posted to his twitter like he had something to do with it. Well. It backfired on him and it was corrected that the game is for PS4 and Xbox One. Now Shahid looks like the lying douchebag tool that he is.
For the 3DS it seems the talk has been all about the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire remakes lately. That's the first thing I think of when I think "what's the next big game on 3DS?"
The release date isn't until November, i.e. 5 months from now. I understand your point about people having backlogs, but there are a lot of people who only have one or two consoles/handhelds and not a large backlog, so having essentially two major games (Smash and Pokemon) scheduled for release between now and the end of the year is ridiculous. Nintendo is leaving a ton of money on the table as people will fill that need with other entertainment such as tablet games, movies, television, etc...I also tend to play Nintendo games for maybe 8-10 hours total per game, so I'm not someone who is going to be satisfied with a game every few months whether that's on WiiU or 3DS. I know my kids are the same way.
Felt that E3 this year was a bit disappointing, nothing really surprisingly new was announced. The new Zelda game looks fantastic though!
