    Default TMNT curiousity

Been playing a lot of TMNT since I picked up the 4 player arcade pcb recently, but I've of course been playing games of the franchise for years, and I'm curious, so I'll post numbered questions.

    1. Who is your favorite turtles from the non-game media?

    2. Do you play as your favorite turtle in video games when possible, or do you play as another because of in-game advantages?

    3. What are your five favorite TMNT games?

    For me, it's...

    1. Probably Donatello now, but as a kid it was Raphael all the way. As an adult, Raph got too moody, whereas I enjoy Michaelangelo and Donatello not giving a shit.

    2. I usually play Leonardo in the beat 'em ups, as he's usually well-rounded. As a kid, I played as Raph since he was my favorite, but he was always the worst, weakest one with the shortest range.

    3. Turtles in Time (SNES)
    TMNT (Arcade)
    TMNT: Hyperstone Heist (Genesis)
    TMNT (NES)
    TMNT II: Battle Nexus (PS2)

I actually might prefer the NES TMNT II over Battle Nexus, but I don't want to include 2 versions of the same game.

Don was always my favorite turtle, I dig the science/technician thing. In the arcade game I usually pick Don because he's my favorite character, but in the first NES game I use each turtle strategically. The first NES game is my favorite, I love it. I don't see why everyone seems to hate it. It has some difficult spots, but... come on man, practice! I can finish TMNT in one credit, without losing a turtle... well, sometimes. I can at least make it to the last corridor in the Technodrome. If the laser soldiers pull some bullshit pattern and kick my ass, that's it, I can't finish it. I have to just turn the game off, even though it's right before Shredder. Sometimes I have a bad day or whatever, but usually I can finish TMNT in one credit.

I'm with you, I love the NES game. Beating it was fun and rewarding, it has a great soundtrack, and has great strategic play. Awesome game.

    1. don, always
    2. if some one doesn't pick him first, yes
    3. I haven't played 5 turtles games but of the ones I have played it would go like

    #1 Turtles in Time (SNES)
    #2 TMNT 2 (NES)
    #3 TMNT 3 (NES)
#4 OG TMNT (NES) except I hated it after I got past the dam

I played the dam level so much in the first one as a kid I could get around to all the bombs without taking damage from the seaweed(?) but after coming out of it I would get my ass handed to me so it didn't matter in the end

    1. Raphael was my favorite. 11 year old me talked my dad into buying me sais from the local martial arts supply shop because I was that obsessed.
    2. Always, always played him in the games.

    Top 5:
    1. Genesis Hyperstone Heist (I played this tons before getting #2 down there, so nostalgia is a big part of it)
    2. SNES IV Turtles in Time
    3. Arcade original
    4. NES Turtles II: The Arcade Game
    5. NES Turtles III

I hope that Platinum Games TMNT dealie coming out soon kicks all of their asses.

    1. Leonardo

    2. I primarily use Donatello in the original NES TMNT game, but all the others I'll usually use Leo.

    3. TMNT II (NES)
    TMNT (NES)
    TMNT III (NES)
    Turtles in Time (SNES)
    Hyperstone Heist (Genesis)

Donny's my favorite and has been ever since Donatello #1, the first TMNT comic I bought.

I usually will play him in games, I like how he's usually got extra reach (if the game is well made) but not exclusively. Sometimes I like to play as Raph since he's got the proper red bandana all the turtles had in the original comic (though since they were black and white, mainly seen on the covers).

I don't have a top 5 games, but I'll say the Fall of the Foot Clan game for GB was pretty good for a pre GBC licensed game.
