It's been a long time since I've emulated Neo Geo, but don't emulators have an option to switch between arcade and home mode? I have a consolized MVS with UniBios, so even with my MVS carts, I can switch to home mode, and as far as I know, the experience is 100% identical to the AES carts.
Newer versions of Mame will when using the aes setting.
