I politely disagree, and I'm going to say SMT Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, and many others are better, but to not further derail this topic I'll leave it at that. However, if you do believe that this is the best RPG on PS2, then I would say that you'll love DQ11 which imo does have the best characters in the series and the best battle system in the series by far. The party swap system works so well with this game and has one of the best party swap systems in the genre.
