I think you intended to put that in one of the other three threads you've got up about how Sony is doing vis-a-vis modern gaming. This one is about DQ7.

Actually, the remake being on the PS4/5 is about the only way I'm going to bother with it. RPG trophies tend to be worth getting due to the time investment.

I meant to put it here specifically because the conversation about reprints that's been going on in this thread.

Square Enix just announced that they're cutting a bit of content from the main game though. They're cutting three specific areas, they're also cutting the Immigrant Town where you can build your town into five different towns based on the people you recruited, the Monster Medows which was an empty dungeon at first, but the more monsters you defeated they might get up and look at you after being defeated and you can invite them to go to the monster meadows which is like a zoo of sorts so they fill out this large empty dungeon, and the casino, which is a castle named Coastal, so the castle seems to still be included but they're getting rid of the casino portion of it.

So on one hand it's a beautiful remake, on the other, you could argue it being a demake. They say it's because they want to streamline everything, but Persona 5, the Trails games, Square Enix's own Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth. Everything is padded AF now days. Dragon Warrior 7 back when it initially released was a long game, but it was just that, a long game, not padded with bloated text, Ubislop fetch quests, etc. It's like saying "we're remaking Final Fantasy 4 and we're going to cut Eblan Castle, Sylph Cave, and Bahamut's Cave from the game." Now those don't have to be entered, but the games have real content, actual exploration and discovery, not "there's one of 50 radio towers, let's climb it to open up more points across the map."
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

I approve this message.
That is the most reseller message I've seen. Why else should one care how much another pays for a video game? Also, buying a game at a lower price means that one can more easily afford to collector other games. Thinking that "real collectors" need to spend "going rate" on everything is extremely elitist. So will one foolish enough to buy everything at the most overblown ebay BIN prices be more of a "collector" to that person?

I'm not a reseller but I don't care if it's elitest. Because I care about the integrity of the console itself. If a game is on the PS2, I don't want to see a remaster of the game on the PS4 just because people want to beg. If they're really collectors and not just imitators, then they will buy the PS2 to play, not only the game that they're begging for, but the vast library that the PS2 actually has to offer. You're not just buying a PS2 for that one game and if you are, are you even a collector?

If you want to play the game legitimately on a console you own, then go buy the console, go buy the game, stop acting like a faux collector and crying about not being alive, or not knowing about a game, or whatever bullsh-- excuse you have for not playing the game before. Or!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go emulate the game. I don't give a shit if people go and download and play a game that I bought. I'm not going to cry about someone playing a game that I bought for free. The only time it pisses me off is when people start releasing Youtube videos and start profiting off games that they have no ownership, then it becomes an issue, but I have no problem someone playing a game that's no longer sold that they no longer have the ability to purchase.

As a side note, video games are not the most expensive hobby, infact, I'd say that video games are the cheapest hobby. The problem is that people live paycheck to paycheck, not because life is hard, but because they don't manage their finances. Maybe if they cut back on going to Chipolte or Starbucks three out of the seven or more times a week, they'll actually be able afford some shit. This doesn't mean that I'm supporting the rising prices of everything, but these companies wouldn't continue to increase their prices if people just stopped going and if people instead made food at their homes instead, they'd save 10-20x the amount that they spent eating out and they'd actually have some money(and not just eating, but just going anywhere is even more absurdly overpriced.)

So after blowing all their money and they can barely afford to live day to day, with credit card bills that are probably half the cost of what I paid for my house, these faux collectors want their video games to be cheap, so they beg for remasters, remakes, ports, whatever. Call it elitest all you want, these people would have no problem collecting if they didn't waste their money elsewhere.
