Stopped at my local GameXchange tonight, picked up Absolute Drift - Zen Edition for the PS4, and a random weird looking game all in Japanese for the N64. Looked it up and found it was called Minna de Tamagotchi World. I might not have picked it up if I knew it was just a Tamagotchi game. Still, I picked it up for the novelty factor.

A couple games I ordered off Amazon came in today. It took about three weeks for Star Ocean - The Second Story R to come in. I ordered Sea of Stars a couple days ago, and strangely it's the Australian version. The one that came from farther away took less time to arrive, so yeah, that makes sense.

I saw a review of Star Ocean - The Second Story R on YouTube, and it looked really great. Pixel characters overlaid on top of modern graphics. If I can ever pull myself away from Sand Land, I'll give it a try.

I was a huge Tamagotchi fan as a kid and really wanted to see this released in the States. Nintendo Power would include the odd screenshot here or there over the N64 years about possible titles Nintendo could release and used fan reactions to gauge interest.

From what I recall of my time with the N64 Tamagotchi game, it's a board game, akin to Mario Party, rather than your typical Tamagotchi game. In fact, I believe it was developed by Hudson, just like the early Mario Party games. There are a sizable number of Japan-exclusive N64 games that are board games, so you can really tell that all sorts of publishers were trying to get a piece of the pie of Mario Party's success. Which I guess didn't work out so great for them, given that nobody bothered localizing so many of them.

I had the rare Saturday off so while I was out I stopped at my favorite game store and picked up In Nightmare and Matterfall for the PS4. Matterfall is the Hong Kong release in Chinese and English. And I went to a GameStop and bought Star Ocean: The Divine Force. Since I just bought a Star Ocean game a couple days ago, thought I'd pick up another gap in the library.

Had an odd day out, ended up picking up Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles for my partner and Final Fantasy XVI for myself.

i was on fb marketplace about 2 weeks ago...saw someone local to me selling a random lot of vintage gaming items....was kind of hard to tell what all was there....mainly there was a few n64 games, a loose atari 2600 jr, and NES, original gameboy with the handyboy accessory....a talkboy, a non working game gear and some other items...a few nes games..nothing special.....so i met her and picked up the package...i paid $200....got home started going through everything and i almost freaked out....could not believe my eyes...but there was a loose clay fighter sculpturs cut on the n64 which is going for about 1k right now......so ....i currently still have the game...i sold everything else....except for the nes games...which was a spiderman game and anticipation....i am thinking about keeping the sculpturs cut...i sort of collect n64 games...i actually dont have the system...but have around 100 carts....preordered the analogue 64 last year...but thats easily the best find i've had in many years

I ordered Joe's Diner off Amazon for the PS4... what showed up was a dual game pack with Joe's Diner and Pineview Drive. Weird.

I ordered Empire of Angels IV collector's edition from Eastasiasoft through Amazon. And just out of goofiness, I also ordered the Atari "smartwatch". It doesn't sync up with a phone, so the battery hopefully won't drain too much from constantly scanning Bluetooth for my phone. And it has 4 Atari 2600 games built in - Missile Command, Super Breakout, Centipede, and Pong (just the Pong version from Video Olympics). It can act as a pedometer and can check your heartrate. The screen isn't very high rez, but considering it's Atari 2600 themed, that doesn't matter too much.
