I had temporarily stopped with Ogre Battle on PlayStation in order to go with Romance MD: Always on Call on Switch as a good game to play while my mom visited, since it wouldn't require me to be in another room or have me too distracted to chat, but I ended up going nearly an entire month without playing anything at all, go figure. Mostly I was just watching the Winter Olympics with my mom whenever I had some free time. But I'm trying to pick up where I left off and get back into the groove. I was on Episode 20-something of Takado's route in Romance MD, and I finished that off after Episode 29 and the Normal Ending. But that's just a fraction of the content with Takado. I've started the main story again to pick the second option whenever there's a choice (and skipping everything I've already read, of course). And I finally unlocked my first CG doing so (not that the art is great anyway). Apparently there's a sequel "main story" and a bunch of side stories and epilogues and such I can get to after I'm done with this first main story. Also, near the end of it, I came across the weirdest instance of "continues as if you picked the other choice" yet. There's a part where you can have the protagonist sleep or go to Takado, I picked the former, and she does this narration that goes something like "I succumb to sleep immediately, never knowing if I had gone to Takado, he would've kissed me when he awoke". And I was like ??? Since when is she narrating as if she's speaking from a future point in time and knows what would happen in a parallel universe where she made a different choice? And then it cuts out and the next episode starts with her in Takado's room, having been kissed. So double ??? The writing is overall very solid, but it's dumb to offer options that the writing really doesn't take into account. The only other complaint I would make about the writing is that the way the key figures in Takado's route connect to each other and what happens to them all is too coincidental to be believable.

Anyway, my plan is to fully finish off Takado's content and then resume Ogre Battle. It may be fairly straightforward, and I do have a strategy guide, but I still don't want to go so long without playing Ogre Battle that I totally forget what I'm doing.
